Just like you

As she lay on the floor,
Knife clutched in her hand,
She watched the life run out of her, falling much like sand.

She thought of all the pain she felt,
And smiled that it was over.
But missed when she could lay her head
Upon a loved ones shoulder.

She felt a sudden pang and thought,
"Oh no, what have I done?"
She thought of how her mother sang,
Now all of that would be over.

She cried and thought, "how selfish of her,
To end it all like that."
The ones who had cared for her
Wouldn't be half of what they were.

They would find her here
In all her tears
And cry for her lost life.

They would blame themselves,
Scream and yell,
And cry with all their strife

And she would see,
from up above
The pain that she had freed.

She'll never forgive herself
For causing all those tears
Why didn't she tell someone?
She kept it inside for all those years.

She'll watch them suffer,
And she will too.
But what is worst,
Is that she was just like you.
