Life's Journey

I am wandering, lost and alone
Down some long forgotten road
I chanced upon a stranger
Who had a beautiful heart and a kind soul
We walked on roads that were separate, but close together
One day our roads connected and this made us happy
We continued down our road hand in hand
We were joined soon by a small beauty
Who loved us as much as we loved her
We traveled together for many miles
We traveled until our beauty had to follow her own road and path
It was a dark mile after that but the sky soon cleared
Me and my stranger continued to walk peacefully together
One day my stranger's path ended and I had to walk alone
I trudged through many a dark and lonely mile
I missed my stranger and my beauty
Tears fell from my lined face as I glanced at the road ahead
I saw nothing but darkness and storm clouds
But I found the end of my road
The sun showed it's brilliant radiance and the sky cleared
I saw my stranger and rushed into his arms with a smile on my face
I rested in his embrace
