I wrote your name in the sand
But the waves washed it away
I wrote your name in the sky by hand
But the wind blew it away
I wrote your name on foggy glass
But it steamed up and melted away
I wrote your name in my notebook in class
But the teacher took it away
I gave up and wrote it in my heart
