I remember when

Velvety skies held the stars
In their silky blanket
Precious
Like pinholes of light
Seeping from the heavens above
Holy

Thrawling my arms outwards
To let the spirit of the sea..
Engulf my very soul

Waves of salt water splashed
Onto my chin
Nostalgia
Pressing my lips together
Tasting
The moment forever remembered

An abundance of darkness
Fled unstructured and
Messy
With the wind

Hid the insomniac sea
Mystic
Provider of midnight music

I looked up
Where no one else dare
Look
In the way dreamers did

And suddenly the thought
Perched on the shoulders
Of my spirit
And repeated

'Do you ever wonder what it is binding your soul to this place?'
