Hemophobic Hemophiliac
Every lingering trickle
Sends a chill down my spine.
Every red drop I dribble
Sends me screaming for my life.
I'm bleeding, bleeding once again.
But will it last forever?
I'm bleeding, will I bleed again?
But no! I could never!
Because here and now I die!
Here and now I end this hell!
Because here and now I draw the line!
Here and now I cut myself!
I've cut myself so deep, now it's surely over!
I could not stand to see myself bleed again!
I've cut myself to end the blood flow!
I must now bleed to death to win!

Certainly one of the quickest writes I've done, under 30 minutes. Nonetheless, I kinda think it's one of my better ones. Please comment freely.

Very good poem for 30 minutes. The reason I guess is that you have hemophelia. This is genetically transmitted (all of Queen Victoria's children carried it or had it). I can feel the fear you project and this is what makes the poem work. There is no law saying you must have worked on a poem for any particular length of time before submission to public scrutiny. This was quick and well penned.

As a matter of fact, I hardly bleed at all. I am about as far from hemophobic as possible, and the same is true of hemophilia. I appreciate your comment though!

OMG! Have I been mispelling hemophelia this whole time?! I'ma check this out and if I have I'll probably go crawl under a rock and return to DUP in three or four years... lol

Haha! I WAS right! Hemophilia is definitely spelled H-E-M-O-P-H-I-L-I-A, and not H-E-M-O-P-H-E-L-I-A.

One of the more darker pieces you've wrote, I loved it. I love how you've kept the recurring topic of blood throughout every stanza, rather than using a bunch of random metaphors. Excellent, taking the time taken to write this into consideration.
