The Hammer and the Nail
My world was but innocent
The power your eye’s had on me was but imminent
Your smile was my Gaiety
Your happiness was my complacency
Smashed me you did
Incredulous I was at your denial to my affection
Tempestuous emotions in a never ending sea of deceit
You were the hammer and I was the nail
Devoid of that lie called love I became
Prodigious was the darkness that consumed me from within
Fickle with your word’s you were
Fool I am for believing them
Languid my heart now is
It used to beat to symphony of your voice
Now it pounds my chest every time it sees love coming around the corner
Another blow it cannot take
Cold I have become for my sake
