ONE A.M. WALK

one a m

the night lay

quiet and still

as i stepped outside

into its silk

my restlessness

listened

to get its fill

of what the day

could not

provide

the depth and clarity

of a slate  black

sky

and the zen like

stare

crisp  white eye

of a quarter

moon

hanging there

magritte like

in the east

smiling down

upon me here

as i walk out

into the depths

of it s mysterious

late night s

nocturnal unfoldment

all by myself

alone

but hopefully

not for

too much

longer

with any luck

at all

and the

mystical  magical

luminous spell

from the

zen like stare

crisp  white eye

of this

quarter moon

still hanging here

now just

a little higher

up above me

magritte like

in the east

smiling down

upon me

as i walk out

into the

cold  calm

peaceful still

of it s flowing

dreamtime silk

my restlessness

keeps listening

to get its fill

of what the day

could not

provide

the depth and clarity

of a slate  black

sky

and the zen like

stare

crisp  white eye

of this quarter

moon

hanging there

magritte like

in the east

still smiling down

upon me

here
