In The Moment
"Live for the little things"
An over used cliche
With a solid point and meaning:
Imagine waking up to a world
Without leaves or grass
Or the buzzing of bees
A world without anger and hate
And the healing forgiveness brings.
Imagine going to sleep
And never smiling in your dreams
Or not waking up from a nightmare
With a violently choked scream.
Imagine walking down the street
Without smelling the dumpsters
Or feeling the breeze
Or having to tug up your too baggy jeans.
Live for the little things,
Like tickle fights
And shooting stars
Or racing to the knocking door
Like fluffy clouds
And passing planes
Or dancing like a child in the rain.
In the moment
You may not realize what they mean
But looking back you will see
You make your strongest memories
When you live for the little things.
Happy Birthday, Briana. We have been through alot together, good and bad. Some of my clearest memories are ones I made with you. You are an amazing person and I am so lucky to be a small part of your life. This poem is a lesson you taught me- that without the little things, nothing has worth. Thank you for everything. Now, stop reading and go be the adult panda you are! :D
