'She' is synonymous with 'me'

So it’s happened again
Stood by the cooker, thinking
Maybe I can do it this time
Food tantalisingly telling her
This is the right thing, good girl

She tucks in, appetite
Slamming back into her,
A friend she hasn’t seen for so long
I missed you
She murmurs, soup warming her inside out

Things are always too good to be true;
Once again it slid down the drain
After she ate a quarter too much and had to
Leave half, pouring it away like so much dishwater

This is the right thing, good girl
That perfect, beautiful voice in the back of her head
Soothes her, telling her she’ll be beautiful this way.
It won’t be long before Hunger gives up on her,
Taking Appetite with it forever.

She can feel herself shrinking in on herself;
She remembers being beautiful just because.
And she wonders when the funeral happened
Without her noticing; she would have liked to have
Paid her last respects to her Mental Health.
