Country Proud
where i come from its quiet nights
expect after them friday lights
where we get a little rowdy
in the middle of nowhere
with some cold beer
and the speakers cranked
pumpin out a lot of Hank
oh
its yes ma'am
and no sir
please and thank you
thats just how we do
its cold cans
callused hands
and rockin farmers tans
its lookin someone in the eye
and knowin it aint no lie
its a dyin way of life
its respecting your elders and the soldiers fighting for you and me
it aint where you're from
its how you were raised...

its funny how the years have gone by
they aren't kiddin when they say time flies
now i'm all grown up
and yeah life gets a little tough
but you'll never hear me complain

staring at an old photograph
and it takes me back
to when we use to live for friday night
watchin our boys under them stadium lights
when we'd try to show off for the girls
just hopin for a kiss

and scuffed up boots
