Body music
There's something
in the streets
that give you free
lessons unfound
in public schools
and rustic old
textbooks,
where neon lights
baptise your face
in different colours
as night skies
weave it's own
attitude from
pinned up
stars.

in the streets
where you meet
those rare few angels
wearing filthy wings
and dark halos round
their sunken eyelids
entering small pubs,
adandoned buildings
that...

On prey and predator
I used to think about
how they could crawl
on to this dry earth
taking over everything
those tentacles & beady
eyes could possibly lay on,
I questioned about
how many of them
are down there,
nestled in their
dark little dens
planning their prey
and turning into it
in the same breath
how fucked i'd feel
if their evolution
advanced within
my life time here,
as I began to age
...
how they could crawl
on to this dry earth

Carry on demure
If there is one thing
i'm not it would be
the word demure
I am a walking
talking shitwreck,
I use the word cunt
like proverbs in
various sentences
sometimes—
my laughter dares to ring
in a villainous tone leaving
me to wonder if sunshine
shakes her shit listening
through the telephone wire
and sure,
I prefer delivering honesty
in my own language
rather than trends
growing dusty in
archives nobody
gives a shit about
so yeah
...

What if wonderland
was the underbelly
of the world alice
thought they knew
the rabbit hole
being the spine
they fell through,
alice watches
a pocketwatch
ticking inside
their ribcage
as tea slowly
pumps around
their blue china
thread veins,
further down
alice greets
a posse of
whispering
flower buds
that bloom slowly
singing golden
afternoon in

spinning around
as their blue and
white clothes
puff inside ...

Nirvana
It isn't much
no sounding alarms
aiding my bones
to rise up
the kettle boils,
I step outside into
the garden letting
everything unfold,
if there is a nirvana
it sounds like birdsong
as I close my eyes
inhaling through
my nose,
it looks like the
breaking of a
new day
as song thrush
bares witness to
tears meeting
my beige
patio
it was the most
peaceful song
I have ever
heard.

I confess this heat is insufferable
the way it bends and breaks us
into leaving things left unspoken
last night, you confessed it would be
infinitely better laying by my side
in this overgrown garden
falling asleep watching the
starry sky in my arms
in that moment, I felt that garden
trying to crawl out of our opposite
signs alive
as air inside my body fans your words
rising up into flames;
from resigning on a split pole
never failing to draw
each other in.

An interesting question
I seem to get asked is:
Do you wear
any other clothes?
you might take this
as somewhat rude
but I always felt
less spoke more
and no, I don't
believe it's due
to age or any
myths we will
often say to
ourselves
I feel life can be
so complicated
so dressing like
it does must have
passed this frame
I have to work with
truth is, I will never
leave without my
sunglasses so
if I forget those I
insist on...

lost in strange text fonts
covered in hateful lies
does my irony upset you
as my scars dance naked
in broad daylight?

The sign
told me I was ready
to embark on a quest,
that it will be a
lonely adventure
so I should adopt
breathing exercises,
ignore sharp objects
and write it all out
in fine ball pens,

UPBEAT INSPIRATIONAL POEM

Way of the water
I submerge into water
remembering
how I learnt to
point my toes
thumbs down
elbows up
feet turning into
little flippers in
a short space
of an hour,
learning to retrieve
bricks in the deep
end of a 25 m pool
how I never wanted
to return back home,
I wanted to dive
in just like my
heroes did
seeing Ian Thorpe
enter Olympic pools
like a giant Thorpedo
carving a few arm
strokes then doing ...
