Princess or dragon?
It was at that moment
That I realized you would always be the damsel in distress
No matter how many times I saved you.
You didn't want to be saved
Rather you chose the dragon instead.
Things always looked better from your ivory tower.
Until you got bored.
You sent word for help
And time and time again I wanted to prove that these cries didn't fall on deaf ears.
Tell me dear when the dragon started breaking your walls did you start to find it charming?
Did you swoon for him instead of finding it alarming?
...

She's my goddess
I feel her presence in the rain
Calming me down when I feel insane
She keeps me grounded
When it feels like my body's in space
She keeps pace
With me on the good and the bad days
My safe space
She's my home
Where she goes I follow
I'll catch her tears as they fall on the ground
As long as she keeps me around
I feel peace in her arms
Away from the noise
And alarms in the world around me
I'm glad she found me.
Breathe
Just take me in
Let me leave you feeling breathless this time...

Posed like a rose
And suddenly there wasn't enough room for me in her garden.
I wasn't good enough to stay forever.
The rose said she chose the cactus over the dandelion.
She said "like me he has thorns"
I asked if love was ever really supposed to hurt me like the pretty rose when I held on to tightly.
From time to time a new flower would enter the garden.
She welcomes the honey locust next
Stating "his yellow flowers are my favorite shade dispite the thorns that rip my pretty petals"
On bad days or stormy weather the...

Familiar monster
Your presence still haunts my dreams
The voices I hear echo your screams
"You promised you'd protect me"
It didn't fall on deaf ears.
What happened to all the years I put you first.
Your thirst for attention
Was more than I had to give
No matter how hard I tried
It didn't count because I wasn't a man.
So he's Your protecter now
He's venomous
When I told you he bit me
You said I lied.
I told you about the nights he came to my room
But it feel on deaf ears
Did my safety even...

Who are you
She looked at her reflection.
Moving around to see if it did the same.
Making sure it was actually her.
Sometimes it felt like a different person.
A monster?
A stranger.
A victim.
What role did she originally play?
Having to change so many times,
Shes forgotten herself by now.
Shes played the mother.
Care giver to her little.
Sweet and gentle.
Protective of her cub.
Wiping away all the tears and fears-
Fear.
Thats familiar to her somehow.
Was she the monster?
Waiting to prey...
Moving around to see if it did the same.
Making sure it was actually her.
Sometimes it felt like a different person.
A monster?
A stranger.
A victim.
What role did she originally play?
Having to change so many times,

Concrete crown
You claim not to be a saint
While putting a crown on your head.
You tell me im toxic
While spitting your venom in my direction.
Keep my name out of your mouth
Or it'll soon turn bitter
Im no longer your sitter
Your still just a lost puppy
With a new master.
You said you outgrew me
Like a pair of old shoes.
Fitting right?
Seeming as you always walked all over me and i let it happen.
Tell me pretty girl
With a pretty slim waist
Do you still forget the way food
Is supposed to taste?

Euphoria
You're addicted to euphoria
Because she holds your hand
Through all the bad times in your life.
Like a doctors visit she comes
With a needle attached to her hip.
Her kisses burn in a good way
That sends you spinning..spinning.
She doesn't mind being shared with your lover.
She knows shes a mother.
Thats okay.
Shes here to help get you both through the day.
Whispering sweet nothings in your ear
As you plung another needle into your arm
Like a loaded gun
Without the alarm...bliss.
You'll miss...
Because she holds your hand
Through all the bad times in your life.

Then and now
ill still write even if you arent part of the story anymore.
there will always be more wolves in sheeps clothing
to keep it interesting.
I use to run to you
Whenever I felt scared
Like hiding under the blankets when your small.
It doesn't actually work but it still feels like it does.
The last time I spoke to you
I saw you teeth bared
Stance in the ready to take me down.
To help me drown
In my own self doubt.
I tried to run
But the exit turned into a trap
Like your obsession with me

She.
She's the type of girl you can easily get drawn to.
Her smile, sweet and inviting
Her body sleek
Her voice,
Dominating.
However like Jekyll and Hyde
There's a flip side
Give you whiplash and regret
She'll let you eat
And eat
Knock you off your feet
Heave until nothing comes out
Aside from the tears that follow.
The habits will follow
Tips and tricks
Chew the food but don't swallow
Get cut by hip bones
Leave your face hollow.
She will make you feel
Like a person out at sea...

Broken promise
Breaking a promise
I sit in my bedroom floor,
A pen in one hand
A razor in another.
Both of these objects can tell a story.
Each one can make a unique ending to whatever fairytale I decide.
With this pen
I can write down every promise I ever made to you.
Cross them off the list as i break each one.
With the razor I can make a tally for every time
That I think of you.
Of food.
Of anything that's ever made me want to die.
At some point I'll loose track of time.
But I'll try.
Tell me...

Second guessing,
My whole life story
Judgmental glances
Second changes,
Saying sorry with no eye contact
A small flinch
Waiting for reaction.
Fearing, what hasn't been said.
Wishing for death
Shaking breaths.
Rapid heartbeats
With second regrets.
Look at me.
Actually see me.
Not your puppet.
Not your pet.
See more than just a broken object.
See more than your plaything.
More than something to abuse,
More than something to amuse,
You.

Him.
Half of the time he reminded me that things can get better.
He reminded me how to smile
I felt like I was worth while..
But when he changed
He reminded me that i was nothing.
"He doesn't love you" he talked of himself.
He reminded me of the abusive relationship he helped me get out of.
He gave me his jacket,
And I can still feel the strings
get caught around my throat
when I misbehave.
What does a good relationship look like..
Take my parents for example...
I grew up seeing drug use
Domestic...
