SOMETIMES
Someone says your name
Somewhere in a crowd
Sometimes I'll feel a pain
If I hear them reference you out loud
Sometimes I'll recall
A tender moment, here or there
Sometimes I'll see your face
Beneath cascading, jet-black hair
Sometimes I'll try to blank
Those fleeting thoughts of you
Times I heard you say
Need to find that someone new
Sometimes I'll feel the love
Each stolen moment that we shared
Times you said you loved me
Times you said you cared
Sometimes the urge to weigh
The good against the bad...

THE OFFER
I Know all about
Flowers and Jewels
Chocolates and Cars
Horses and Houses
And Wishes on Stars
There's no value in assets
You can hold in your hand
Those aren't the measures
That make a true man
Instead I will offer
Humor, Love, Passion
Romance and Insight
I'll never long for another
I'll never look for a fight
I will offer my soul
Hold it close to your breast
So next to your heart
I can assemble my nest

Drawing near the end of days
The zealots, in a mindless craze
Hear their God, they heap with praise
Call all the "others" no more than strays
Instructed to exact the pain
Till all the rest have all been slain
Rewarded with virgins
With whom they will lay
Bathing in pleasure
Beyond the last day
Then there's the other group
So caught up in the hate
So sure that their enemies
Have sealed their fate
That they have not read
The other camps book
So, will witness the Hell
When the time comes to look ...

SUNSHINE HAIKU
I DO LOVE SUNSHINE
BUT A RAINSTORM CAN BE GOOD
ON SOME OTHER DAY
IT CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND
WHEN YOU HAVE A BAD THOUGHT
YOU LOOK FOR THE RAIN
AS IT WASHES YOU
YOU FEEL THE CLEANSING POWER
THEN THE SUN TO DRY

love diabetes
I got love diabetes
You cant take any pill
I got love diabetes
Should be writin my will
When I found out I was sick
I had a worried blink or two
But then I realized
I'd get a daily dose of you
Wasn't sad to be afflicted
Overjoyed to know the truth
I'd be bathing in your waters
I'd be addicted to our youth
I got love diabetes
No single shot will do
Only cure for this disease
A lovin spoonful of you

on my front door
don't pretend runnnin into me
at the grocery store
don't be a lurkin'
around my hootie hoo
or there'll be trouble
i'm tellin you
don't call me lover
when we aint made love
we only copulated
wern't no horns from above
don't be plantin'
no voodoo spell on me
don't tell no reporter
from A.B.C.
or i'll quit payin you
to tell your friends that i'm your man
