POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
“You write your first draft with your heart. And you rewrite with your head..; the first key to writing, is…to write; not to think.” - William Forrester, Finding Forrester
A most exquisite danger
Your eyes
Radiate,
As sunlit sapphires
Crowning mountains
Of mere diamonds.
They
Fall on me,
Lovingly,
And I am
Splendidly undone.
Radiate,
As sunlit sapphires
Crowning mountains
Of mere diamonds.
They
Fall on me,
Lovingly,
And I am
Splendidly undone.

Moment
With
Eyes closed,
I will
Bend my brow to yours,
And silently,
Unmoving,
We will
Love one another
Wildly,
And then,
With but a step back,
We will
Open our eyes
And peer a moment
Into each other’s souls,
And we will have
Naught
But love to share
Between
Ourselves,
And yet
Have love to spare.
Eyes closed,
I will
Bend my brow to yours,
And silently,
Unmoving,
We will
Love one another
Wildly,
And then,
With but a step back,
We will
Open our eyes
And peer a moment
Into each other’s souls,
And we will have
Naught
But love to share
Between
Ourselves,
And yet
Have love to spare.

Her 10w
If
Kisses
Were coins,
I’d
Squander
A fortune
On you.
Kisses
Were coins,
I’d
Squander
A fortune
On you.

Gloaming
Moon glow
On the edge of yesterday
And one day
I’ll fade away
And so I must
For nothing gold can stay
And though I’m but rust
Don’t dismay
For in the arms of Love
I’ll remain
On the edge of yesterday
And one day
I’ll fade away
And so I must
For nothing gold can stay
And though I’m but rust
Don’t dismay
For in the arms of Love
I’ll remain

Snow
I remember
Watching her,
A month before Christmas,
Treading so terribly slow,
Though the walks were not yet
Buried beneath fresh snow;
I remember,
I warned myself,
Don’t ever let her go...

I dreamed of you
Again the other night.
Sixteen tattoos counted,
Eight on either thigh.
And I don’t afford myself
The chance to reason why.
(Were they feigned lovers
You bled dry?
Or voracious wolves, that
Gnawed as you cried?
But, no.
I need no reasons why.)
For you, my arms
Remain spread wide
There is a place in my heart,
For you.
A place that does not die.
Again the other night.
Sixteen tattoos counted,
Eight on either thigh.
And I don’t afford myself
The chance to reason why.
(Were they feigned lovers
You bled dry?
Or voracious wolves, that
Gnawed as you cried?
But, no.
I need no reasons why.)
For you, my arms
Remain spread wide
There is a place in my heart,
For you.
A place that does not die.

Heartfelt
My love,
Forgive me
When my words are stowed
In the tremulous touch
Of my fingertips
Skimming along
Your cheekbones;
When my eyes
Shiver wildly;
Trying, impossibly,
To take in all your wonder
In but a moment;
When my lips
Amble artfully along
Your lavender fields,
And my tongue
Trespasses
Amid delicate secrets.
My love,
You are composed of
Stardust and moonlight,
Of seasonal delight:
A soul so gloriously wild;
How winsome you wholly...
Forgive me
When my words are stowed
In the tremulous touch
Of my fingertips
Skimming along
Your cheekbones;
When my eyes

Envy
I envy her tattoos,
How they ever rest on her;
Maybe they envy me,
How I wander over her, entirely.
How they ever rest on her;
Maybe they envy me,
How I wander over her, entirely.

Calm
I have not
Sat quiet
Beneath the canopy
Of wisdom,
For a very
Very
Long time.
Sat quiet
Beneath the canopy
Of wisdom,
For a very
Very
Long time.

Misc.
I.
Disembark;
Let seep
In to the sand,
Feet, long-wandering;
The first footfall
In this shadowland.
II.
Landlocked;
This wanderlust:
The finest dust,
Drawn in to my lungs;
And for a breath,
A moment, I rest,
And plead my wanderings
Be not yet done.
III.
Plane’s touched down;
The tarmac dark and hot;
My feet are now eager
To squander every mile they’ve got;
But grant me just one...
