POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
"From childhood's hour I have not been as others were, I have not seen as others saw;" - Edgar Allan Poe, 'Alone'
The Drums
The drums sound once more,
Demanding death and bloodshed,
My mind goes to war.
Demanding death and bloodshed,
My mind goes to war.

Void
My existence void,
The ruins of hollowed man,
Now, I am nothing.
The ruins of hollowed man,
Now, I am nothing.

Brown Veins
Veins flow like rivers,
Mine tainted with sediment,
My blood browned with waste.
Mine tainted with sediment,
My blood browned with waste.

Burden
Do I truly carry this burden,
Or am I the burden that the people I love carry instead?
Or am I the burden that the people I love carry instead?

Grace
Your grace protects me,
Your light halting the darkness,
Please don't fade away.
Your light halting the darkness,
Please don't fade away.

The Demand
The voice burrows in,
Its scream envelops my mind,
Demanding my blood.
Its scream envelops my mind,
Demanding my blood.

The Padlock
There he sits, none but skin and bone,
Here he lies, whimpering all alone,
Abandoned in darkness, his fears unravel,
His home of shadows and rags upon gravel,
Insects for friends, his bedding the earth,
Weeping alone in a washed out hearth,
Kept of all happiness and earthly delight,
Kept fourteen years from any Sol-born light,
His existence in shadows, hidden away,
Cockroach companions both night and day,
An adoptive mother his sole interaction,
Chained and starved per her satisfaction,
Forgotten by siblings, the unloved brother,
Scorn for...

Death, Calling
She beckons to me,
Her cold hands reaching outwards,
Grasping for my life.
Her cold hands reaching outwards,
Grasping for my life.

The Shore
Let's go out to shore,
Where only the waves are heard,
And, nervous heartbeats.
Where only the waves are heard,
And, nervous heartbeats.

Home
What will you do then,
When all that you want is to go home,
But home isn't the same person that they used to be?
When I need shelter from this storm,
Where can I run now,
Now that I don't have a home?
When all that you want is to go home,
But home isn't the same person that they used to be?
When I need shelter from this storm,
Where can I run now,
Now that I don't have a home?

Some Day
Some day, I will stop punishing myself.
I will let myself enjoy life.
I will accept that I deserve happiness.
I will allow myself to smile, to laugh.
I will forgive my past self.
I will embrace myself and the future.
I will care, love, and live.
I will forgive past transgressions.
I will forgive myself.
I will stop blaming myself.
I will love someone.
I will love myself.
Some day.
Some day.

Watching
I've laid eyes on hell,
It is you walking away,
Stuck, watching you go.
It is you walking away,
Stuck, watching you go.
