Imaginary friend
Once you were real
Faded
Then gone
Been told I have a great imagination
And right now I feel like playing pretend
(i don’t feel like missing you)
So welcome to my life,
My dear imaginary friend!
We have a heart-load of shit to share
It’s been so long!
You start first:
Tell me of your travels!
Many have entered your life…
And losses too…
How is your family?
What warms your heart?
What makes it ache?
Then I’ll tell you of mine.
That’s the thing about imaginary friendships...
Faded
Then gone

alternate reality—sensing you
I dream in all 5 senses of you.
The colors:
blue and red
your tender eyes
your beating heart and passionate lips
The scents:
clean, shower-fresh;
tasty foods; tangerine;
and flowers--lavender and lilac
The taste:
shared popcorn, counted sushi,
big soft pretzels;
a shot of vodka from your mouth--light headed shock;
a freshly brushed, long, minty kiss;
water licked from clean soft skin
The sound:
Rhythmic breathing
Rhythmic heartbeat
Soft, light, lasting...
The colors:

Restless
Beyond midnight
Whiskey floods the veins
Unshed tears
Over ashes, these remains
Mourn the dead
Mourn the gone
Mourn the heart once strong
Now wrong
Mourn the squandered past
The empty now
Frozen memory of that final last
Farewell
Empty broken words
Promises unkept
Pierced with sword
Of hopes inept
Future aimless fading figure
Letting restless sleep
At last take over

Flying free at night
Twin sharp teeth of white
Blood red need
throbbing bleed
Ageless faces of eternal longing
Blessed bite that brings belonging
Fall towards my embrace
Melancholy trace
Trickling from his tongue
Naked mouth and I’m undone
Take me all, welcomed fiend
My hate, my love, my in between
Ravish lips to lips and enter in
forever hold, embrace of sin.
Until I taste of your inferno
Together our memory eternal.

You are everywhere
You fill my thoughts
With you I am safe
To remove the mask
