Endless Slumber
I close my eyes
Rest my head
Shallow breathing
In my bed
In my bed
Nothing here
All alone
I feel no fear
I feel no fear
Nothing wrong
All I've wanted
Took so long
Took so long
To bleed out
I'm finally slipping
No strength to shout
No strength to shout
I'm nearing my endless sleep
Forgive me my friends
But my memories you have to keep
Rest my head

COURAGE
Can a life full of daily stress break a person down to where they
just want to give up and end it all?
Of course it can. It happens to millions of people daily around the
world.
Usually, we think we are too weak to handle all of this stress.
Really, all we need to do is focus on the positive, not just the
negative.
And just take the time out of our daily lives just to breath in the
fresh air of the new day.
Gather everything wihin yourselves and say "you can do it".
Every person has the ability to get through anything life throws

I Have Your Answer...
The shadow you see out of the corner of your eye, but when you look, nothing is there...
The moment the hair on your arm stands straight up, and it feels as if someone is touching you...
The warm feeling in your face you feel as if someone is watching you, but you look around and no one is in sight...
The times you hear unexplainable noises...
The voices in your head that you know are not your own, driving you to dispair...
The moment you realize that you have experienced all of these events...
Trust me... You're not crazy...
...

Am I Alive?
I see, but I do not see what is infront of me
I see bloodshed and pain of others in combat
I hear, but I do not hear what is around me
I hear the cries and screams of the past
I smell, but I do not smell what is present
I smell sulfur, gunpowder, and smoke
I taste, but I do not taste what is in my mouth now
I taste the the salt on my lips without a drop of water within miles
I touch, but I do not touch what is on my fingertips
I touch.... nothing, for I am numb
Am I alive?

All of this for You, and You Forget
Thanksgiving
What are you thankful for?
Your family? Friends? Your job?
But, does it even occur to you that not everyone is home to share this joyous time with THEIR family and friends?
That there are men and women thousands of miles away from home fighting so that YOU can live in luxury?
That they get shot at and take the chance of stepping on IED's everyday so that YOU can live the way that you want?
No, it's not likely that you do.
It's alright though...
Eat your food. Be a glutton.
Buy all the unnecessary itens that you want.

Flag at Half Mast
8,000 miles away from all that I love
I wander down the dirt road before me
Wondering if this next step will be my last
Three guys, my brothers, behind me
Thinking the same thing
What's the worst that could happen?
If anything happens, at least it would be fast
Nothing stops us from moving on
Not the fear, not the anger
If anything, the anger just reminds us
Of this road, and it's unforgiving past
For not that long prior
Another one of our brothers
Walked down this very road
Every day reminded of this, by the flag at half...

A soul walks through the wilderness in despair
Searching under every stone just to find a glimpse of hope
Days pass and still none is to be found

Scanning his surroundings with each step he takes just to find a glimpse of hope

Only, that person is

You: Loved me.
Me: I loved you.
You: Didn't like who I've become and how I've changed.
Changed: That's all I've done in your eyes.
Eyes: The one thing that I see of you at night.
Night. The one place where I feel comfort.
Comfort: The one thing I always felt when I was with you.
You: Love me.
Me: I loved you, but what you did was too much and things will never be the same.
