Sorry I haven't been on in so long, working through some stuff. but i'm back! I write because I love writing, because my songs are who I am. one day I hope to inspire people with them. I'm shy but if you get to know me I'm really quite funny.

Addiction
If you asked me to explain I don't think I could
it keeps me busy, keeps me sane, keeps me distracted
but the truth is that it's tearing me apart inside
and until now I never even noticed
it might seem harmless and simple but it's a dangerous trap that I have fallen into
Maybe it's denial that's keeping me caught up
stuck in this neverending circle
sleepless nights and senseless worry
maybe it could all be set free
if it wasn't for this addiction
and I wonder if I'll ever break the spell
long enough to remember what freedom is
and be me...

Dawning
Broken so long, I can't remember what it was like to be okay.
but even though it's getting harder, I know I can become stronger!
through the hate and malicious lies, I hope to say that I'll survive.
though I don't know how close or far away the morning is...
I will see it dawning,
when all I've known for ages is the dusk and demoned night
there will be no mourning,
after I have discovered the beauty and truth within the strife
and I'll be able to stand and say I didn't let it push my heart too far

Supposed To Be
It's been four days since I spoke to you last
without reaching across this distance
I know you don't want to get too close
just in case things never come around
and I never get to tell you what I feel
I know you don't wish to break my heart
anymore than you've already been forced to
but getting hurt's of little concern to me
I just couldn't live with losing you completely
Oh, this is too long, this isn't how our song is
supposed to be written
the tension is making me ill, straining my will
to go on facing the possibility that this is it...
without reaching across this distance

Romeo and Juliet never stood a chance
against the will of fate and destiny
they tried so hard, they fought so long
but the past still came back to haunt
as senseless anger tore them away

but I believe that our legend doesn't have to be
the way these things alway seem

you said that twinkle gave you hope, but now that sparkle died
because of a misunderstanding, I got caught in the middle
of a war on dreams and wishful things
and now you're on the other side of the battlefield
they're holding you hostage and saving you might get me killed

I'd tell them to throw their sticks and stones
bandages can heal a broken bone
I'd beg them to bruise my skin and not my soul
a wilted hope is hard to regrow

but they're never quiet
Names is all they are
they don't make me, or change me, but they tear my heart
cruel like the harshest winter storm
raining down ice and fire stabbing at the very seams of me

Familiar faces all seem like strangers to me
as if I am still me, but not myself
loved ones claim they're here but don't understand
it feels like they want to but I'm not sure they can
my thoughts are too complicated these days to decipher
the picturesque smile i paint is enough to dilute
their worry and fear that soon my life I may lose
Vehement doubts and powerful whispers
