POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I have competed at a provincial level for slam poetry and I enjoy writing poetry about all sorts of things. I am also fictionkind as well as generally alterhuman, and I don't intend on shutting up about it anytime soon. It greatly influences my work.
a single candied blossom.
once, you got hurt. a little too hurt. and you get a little lost, a little more bloody, a little less trusting. and you turn on your heel and walk away, not intent on arriving somewhere as much as you're leaving here. and eventually, you arrive somewhere new. full of broken children and wayward adults. they seem close, and you seem alien to them, don't you? is it always like that when you're new, or are you just a little too broken?
and then you hear the words, those words that you don’t believe for a second.
it's okay to talk about what happened to you.
it is...

throw up our sorrows and still not see a difference.
Today a girl I don't really know told me that I have a perfect body, and that every girl is jealous of me for it.
Thigh gap, small waist, round face, and I couldn't lose or gain any weight to save my life.
But I don't want that, I don't appreciate it, this body looks as ugly on me as bright-candy-pink lipstick does on an eight year old.
And she said she didn't understand, how I could possibly not care.
Well, I know she doesn't understand, and she said I couldn't, because if I did then I'd care about those things too. But that's not what I mean.
As much as she...

the colour of your eyes is natural brown.
The colour of your eyes is natural brown, and that means you are happy. It means you are gentle and you are calm, you're wrapped in the earth's embrace in cooling darkness, and the soft caress of te world. It means you are filled with love and the innocence of new acorns, but that does not mean you do not have the strength of oak trees. The colour of your eyes is brown, but you will never waver and fall like the leaves in autumn.
The light in your eyes is blazing red, and that means there's been blood. It means you have set the world aflame, so bright and blinding that it burns...

sleepy dreamy afternoon
the quiet of the room, and the way your chest rose and fell, the silent proof you were alive.
the sweet summer nights, where all the world seemed like it was no longer spinning-
at least, if it was, it was slow enough I made sense of it.
your hair had spread from one side of the room to the other, a pair of glasses and another of goggles resting on a shelf.
you were dreaming, but you were not far. you kept an arm around my blooming-rose, thorn-woven ribs like you always had.
the skies and seas and spinning gears had lead me to you. they had never failed me. ...

just to the west of that spatial freeway.
the world begins to go mad.
the queen remains unfound. the princess is sixteen, and she cannot rule. the fog grows deeper. darker. six have been lost. those who followed her majesty have fallen, never to return. the world's two lights flicker, and go out.
the world begins to go mad.
the garden's green grass and colorful flowers fade. the white god smiles, obsidian eyes blind to the plague of fire. the black devil watches, uncertain of the truth. one demon stands above all. she raises her wings to fly, and she falters.
