Sonnet to Self No. 1
1 To make a necklace, use my whitest teeth,
2 To hold your kukri, take my lower jaw,
3 My bitter veins can form the finest wreath,
4 To carve an ulna flute just bring your saw.
5 And catch your dreams with locks of braided hair,
6 And burn them quickly under moonlit night,
7 But please just leave my larynx resting there,
8 Its final words may want to make this right.
9 l watch corrosive tears dilute my cheeks,
10 The crimson paint of life is streaming down,
11I’m just a shapeless shadow counting weeks,

What holds your inner eye?
Visions lost, unfit to fly;
A travertine cabin,
A cottonwood rustle,
An iced spruce tree,
Some city’s hustle and bustle.
I lie down on a bed of poppies,
Lament my visions lost,
For I actually lie on cracked concrete,

Snakebite
For the love of God, listen to me,
Unforgivable - can't you see?
Cutting you, tearing you, eating you alive,
Knocking your tears out, of happiness to deprive.
Your own hand is stitching your lips, precious one,
Oh, I know, you just want it to be done.
Unable to scream, though you are shouting inside,
And yet the echoes of the heart always subside.
Love me instead,
Love me without regret.
