Black Wall Street
Tulsa 1921
As I stare at the dangling sign
It reads Williams Dreamland Theater
Hanging on by a thread it’s about all that’s left
Dawn rises in Tulsa 1921 smoke and debris is all that’s stands
Downtown shoe shine boy gets accused of
Being lewd with a White Lady
Newspaper prints the story and a white crowd grows for hours
Black men assemble put on war uniforms
March down to the courthouse to save a Black man from lynching
Police say there is nothing to fear go home and chill out

End of the month
Money is too tight
Scrape together all I have
Hoping it’s enough to pay the rent
But I walk around in a red hat
And I have t shirts and flags
Fake billionaire sweats orange off his skin
Selling his faithful on his lies
Send me money they’re persecuting me and you
Fake culture wars not really
But I need more money to keep this lie going
I’m being indicted for you
I did the crime but it’s you loser who will pay for me

Orange Jesus
Orange Jesus will save us
From what I don’t know but he’ll tell you
Immigrants like our forefathers that made
The Great Green Lady hold a torch
Give me your poor your tired your hungry
That’s been our Brand way before trump
But Orange Jesus will save us from what I don’t know
Get to the punch bowl at the party
Buts it’s only Orange Kool Aid
Make you feel above them but it’s just nightmare
How many friendships and families broken
Because some worship the Orange king ...

15 billion miles from Earth
My son sits and wonders what’s beyond the universe
A bunny hops into the grass and we laugh and giggle
I think my son can be an Astronaut for Ages
We stare at the sky sometimes I don’t know why
We watch 3 crows chase a bigger Hawk
We always appreciate the beauty of nature
Go in the back yard pitch baseballs in the net
As we do, me and you are like me,we are on a string
See bumble bees times two buzzing around us
So we throw the ball back and forth ...

Need Some Dialogue
Need some dialogue
Without it all bets are off and then it’s On(fire)
If we can’t put some words together to get us
A little closer to being real no bullshit gloves are off
So give me some dialogue
And I’ll show you we’re not so different
When a storm comes upon us we can deal without human impulses
So talk to me I’ll talk to you
Give me some dialogue to show us both
We aren’t Ape Men
And I’ll grill you up something good
Enough to feed our family
Until we burp and unbutton our pants

Burning Blue
Burning Blue
Flames lick my palm
Dance upon flickering light
Sweat builds up on my brow
As I push the plough
Digging down to my essence
Pull back the shade
Hear barks in the distance
In the in between I observed
Glaciers melting
RIse the sea
Look at me
No look at me
Puddles forming
Below the corncob pipe
Magnify a fly
Or magnify a human
Temp rising
Dehydrate drink some water
Basin is drying up
In a desert of thirsty beings...

Step by step inch by inch
Noose tightening around my neck

Feel the pressure
Closing in tight as a vice
World around me is sinking in
Step to the Lord to argue my case

My urge is to rage on

There’s a state of emergency and it’s in cop city
Try and level the land and shoot protesters down
85 acres of beauty trees why would we
Flatten it out for the new world order
Police are the new military
In our community
Smoke bombs and pepper spray they
Gotta put em down
Can’t let the peasants gain the upper ground
Don’t know the heavy hand
is a losing proposition
Would think I’m talking about a far away land
But It’s in our backyard way
Down in Atlanta
