there's a tingling all over my legs

at first i was pissed off but now i don't mind,
it's nice to feel something.

living a life where i was running on in fear,
afraid to love, afraid to lose, afraid to live,
i had fear, i was scared of you,
i didn't know what to say,
i wasted time, the dates slipped by
squandered day by day.
i ain't afraid of that shit no more,
that shit don't bother me anymore.
lessons learned, bridges burned for liberty,
more lost friends, fairytales end in tragedy
but experience, to live and learn,
to smile and laugh goodbye,
to love and leave discovery
and love so satisfying.

i learned a valuable lesson today,
i'm not invincible
but i think i got away with though
as i'm still alive.
today was not a success,
i got burnt
but the best thing about failure is
the lesson learnt.

new leaf, new page,
clean break, wiped slate,
pastures new, fresh bread,
new moon, made bed.
i changed my manifesto
and made a revolution,
cut all the metal and concrete stays,
dissolved them in solutions,
flexible, unpredictable, take life by surprise,
i'm lost and found, in and out,
safe and sound, up and down,
life is a changing tide.

i don't need a partner to watch tv with,
to drink coffee either side of the morning paper,
to go on walking trips in matching boots,
to coast in comfort in shades of grey.
i won't settle.
if i can't be amazed, inspired, swept away,

minnows in a school,
shark-infested pool,
hickory clocks keeping
schedule's time aloft,
subtle as a china shop bull.
dogged cat platypus,
hippopotamus ravenous,
crystals of light in a waterfall.
a cowed swarm
and a sheepish herd
meet a boorish,
bullish
mynah bird.
panicked pandas big and small
answer to some nature's call,
graceful, beautiful bald eagle,
am i a machine or an animal?

i'm looking out on the day
seeing the lie of the land,
routes and packs and boots and tracks,
the world within my wingspan.

i was just trying to understand the world,
standing on one leg,
watching it all float by me
on the words that people said.
when i saw enough i realised

the birds are singing their molten song
while dogs and foxes slink beneath,
daffodils turn their heads to the sun,
yellow petal on green leaf.
blossom aromas fill the air with sweet,
a solitary sycamore seed descends
and as i stare through pollen thick air,
air oblivious,
i will learn to love again.
the universe couldn't care a shit for love,
it's not on some gxd's to do list,
nature takes what it can claim
and leaves the rest to decay in humus.
the world doesn't stop for my love,
it will spin and orbit in silence, ...
