Mental Mother
bedroom door flies open
shes got that look
like shes the only bitch that matters
shes offering money for all of us to leave
be gone, stay gone
come back last
$20 for the winner
why did she have kids?
only to toss us out before coffee
cocaine and breakfast?
yet prior to running out the door
she grabs you
makes you sit
at the kitchen table
the dreaded kitchen table
this is where she wants you to know shes the best
its all about her
her narcissistic...
shes got that look

The Henchman of caffeine

Hopeful Butterflies
That fluttering feeling
in your gut
Like Christmas morning
when you were 6 years old
Hoping to see what you wished for
...And there it was...
That feeling of said butterflies
when you looked up
and saw him staring at you, smiling
wishing neither of you would look away
...And then you hoped...
Having hope
during all the different stages of a butterfly's life
lead to me love, marriage and motherhood
I will always be grateful
for the hopeful butterflies
I first felt the day...
in your gut

Flower Garden
The colors are so brilliant
they make me smile
some can make me weep
some have been plated for those that are gone
and some for those
that never were
Pinks, purples
yellows
oranges
blues with white
deep red
even blacks
I mend the soil, I keep it neat
I remove said weeds
and preen where I see fit
all I know is that this flower garden
holds many memories of those here and gone
