Frenemy
you were my friend
so you said
little did I know
that you held me
in contempt
you listened to secrets
letting me cry
on your shoulder
all the while
judging me
you used my weakness
enhancing your ego
tearing me down
to prove yourself
superior man
you crushed my illusions
setting them ablaze
failing to realize
you made me stronger
trusting less
you were not my friend
that much is clear
my feelings were real
but you were false
epic betrayer
you are gone now
and good...
so you said

behind these eyes
blue pools
are secrets
that you will never know
dreams that will remain illusory
these azure depths
cannot show my Self
walls upon walls shall I build
to protect the core
of who I am
windows of the soul

but the shutters are down

A Dream
a dream
I had
the other night
you were with me
and laughing
my heart
fluttered
at the sight of your smile
joy rose
I felt
the heat
of your body
laying on mine
felt your lips
caress my skin
sensuously stroking tongue
building desire
my hand
guiding yours
to my sweet depths
liquid fire spreading
from core
igniting passion
I gasped
sudden epiphany
I love you
within the dream
I whisper it
you whisper back
sharing heart and soul
embracing us ...
I had

You told me once
nothing lasts forever
I did not believe you.
I believed in fairy tales
Elf and dragon and phoenix
I did not believe you.
I believed in dreams
From which to never wake
I did not believe you.
I believed that True Love
Conquers all with a kiss
I did not believe you.
I believed in words
Saying I love you
I did not believe you.
I believed in hands

foolish fire
illusion
delusion
which leads astray
surrender brings agony
succumbing to madness
Dionysus’ flames
licking at my flesh
and bones
igniting the darkness
within my soul
riotous Bacchanalia
thrusting
writhing
on Pan’s phallus
seeking abandon
and oblivion
lust’s inferno
conflagration of the gods
consuming my heart
at Eros’ pyre
weeping
keening
over love’s devouring
and loss
precious gift
scattered upon fleeting
Zephyr’s wings ...

I slumbered
sixteen years
waiting
for life to begin
dreaming

tenderness
love
passion
someone who would see
me
and not be afraid
of darkness
and light
reawakened
with
sweet kiss
upon soft lips
breathing
in your essence
dreaming

honor
fidelity
truth
someone I could trust
with
my secret self
my heart
and soul

frozen in time
