POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Here and Now
I perch upon your lap
legs wrapped, no space between
nose to nose
eye to eye
stealing breath soaked sweetly
with our scents
moans and groans our only sounds
as the moment intensifies
a tear leaks, he catches it
with his tongue
grabs my hair
and thrusts hard
trying to erase my thought
keeping me in
the here and now
legs wrapped, no space between
nose to nose
eye to eye
stealing breath soaked sweetly
with our scents
moans and groans our only sounds
as the moment intensifies
a tear leaks, he catches it
with his tongue
grabs my hair
and thrusts hard
trying to erase my thought
keeping me in
the here and now

Flame of Passion
the flame burns for one
where spirit and soul
share space and time
flames stoked
by compassion and love
growing and searing
a heart so full of passion
this flame would die
if the passion were left to fade
for five minutes with this flame
is better than an eternity of darkness
where spirit and soul
share space and time
flames stoked
by compassion and love
growing and searing
a heart so full of passion
this flame would die
if the passion were left to fade
for five minutes with this flame
is better than an eternity of darkness

Some days
some days the shellac
on my veneer cracks
leaving gaps
where my vulnerability shows
some days I’m a woman
with no strength
and I need you
to be my pillar
some days I need you
to fold me like a note
and carry me in your pocket
for a day
some days all I want
are soft words
telling me everything
is going to be alright
on my veneer cracks
leaving gaps
where my vulnerability shows
some days I’m a woman
with no strength
and I need you
to be my pillar
some days I need you
to fold me like a note
and carry me in your pocket
for a day
some days all I want
are soft words
telling me everything
is going to be alright

Four Words
Just,” hello, I’m still here”
I inhaled deeply, then exhaled with a sigh
Four words, just those four
Were the sweetest words I ever read
Gone for weeks, so far from home and my heart, hearing static, reading garbled messages of broken words, I stood in the kitchen, my feet in one spot, never moving, staring at the message on my phone, remembering your face, with the small scar above your right eye, eyes of blue, and hair, honeyed, mixed with gray.
I miss that face as I look around the room; everything starts to remind me of you. Your chair at the table, where...

Trust The Magic
Trust the Magic
if you pause between the gaps in the universe
surround yourself in melancholy stars
where dreams and magic found your heart
somewhere between Jupiter and Mars
I’m waiting amongst the stardust
catching rays from moon beams
follow the rainbow you’ll find me
close your eyes and in magic, trust
if you pause between the gaps in the universe
surround yourself in melancholy stars
where dreams and magic found your heart
somewhere between Jupiter and Mars
I’m waiting amongst the stardust
catching rays from moon beams
follow the rainbow you’ll find me
close your eyes and in magic, trust

Not Easy
if loving you
were easy
learning how soft
your lips are
through stubble
in a morning kiss
wouldn’t hold my interest
half the fun is
the rewards received
for my curiosity
were easy
learning how soft
your lips are
through stubble
in a morning kiss
wouldn’t hold my interest
half the fun is
the rewards received
for my curiosity

Moonlight Changes Everyting
fallen light of the crescent moon
faint as you peek quietly
passing through glass in my room
wicked glow you changed the view
turning shades as colors pale
in hues of several porcelain blues
skin formed shadows
of lasting impression
tracing curves from thigh to elbow
when you were mine for hours
reminders of a time at night
ever this…ever thine…ever ours
faint as you peek quietly
passing through glass in my room
wicked glow you changed the view
turning shades as colors pale
in hues of several porcelain blues
skin formed shadows
of lasting impression
tracing curves from thigh to elbow
when you were mine for hours
reminders of a time at night
ever this…ever thine…ever ours

Gossip
the tattle of her tongue
rattled so quickly
with raised pitch, arms flailing
I looked into eyes
and thought, insanity!
your depth of knowledge
of where and how
were you a fly on the wall?
then all I could think
as you spat out spam
was you quack like a duck
and I give a damn
