The Uncarved Block
What is the uncarved block
But a simple metaphor on life
So much potential to be realized,
yet the block remains - uncarved
Those who see beyond the block
Now face the chain limiting us
For it is not about the strength of the chain
Or its weakest link
It's that there is even a chain
This chain takes our dreams
And wraps them with atrophy and self doubt
With each link representing a limitation
We have created for ourselves.
We are all the uncarved block ...
But a simple metaphor on life
So much potential to be realized,

Walking Stick
A journey takes many forms
Sometimes you don't even realize you're on one,
Then you stumble upon a piece of driftwood
Long ago separated from its tree.
It's a hardened old stick
Showing a lifeline of growth,
Rot has not yet taken over,
It is a firm but flexible stick.
You can tell it's had an interesting existence
Its path was straight at one point,
With minor deviations along the way
Mostly smoothed out over time.
But life gave it a more pronounced diversion,
The bumps and knots in the road are clearly seen...
Sometimes you don't even realize you're on one,

Creatures in the night, we were
Angels of light, our destiny
The past, lost to those who forget
The present, but a moment
The future, a never-ending fantasy
Open your eyes
See the reality around you
Awaken to what is
Resistance is not futile

When you know everything you need to know
Feel everything you need to feel

Looking for my Reality
The breath between us
felt like I was sinking into a warm bath
Slowing warming my body
As a calmness settled onto me
The space around our bodies faded
Leaving us alone
We spoke in single words
Our eyes finishing the sentences
There was no next
Only now
I wanted to reach over
Feel her touch
But knowing the spark
Would ripple though the moment
I sank deeper into comfort
That microsecond of hesitation
That fear of rejection
That lack of courage
Was all it took

It can't be created, faked, nor manipulated,
It applies to anything and everything in life,
It just exists or it doesn't,
You either have it or you don't,
It happens unconsciously,
You don't know when it starts,

Moonlight Freedom
As I lay down,
The earth grounding me,
A midnight breeze gently shivering my skin,
The full moon creeping behind the clouds.
Slowly the shadows merge into one
A faceless silhouette starts to form,
Memories rushing in
Defining the shape,
It's her again.
She has haunted my dreams of late,
I had an inkling she would be back tonight.
Was I looking for her,
Or the idea of her?
Her presence now felt in the conscious world
Is more than my soul can bear. ...

Love Locks
Ever wonder about the Love Locks on bridges?
One would guess they contain everlasting love,
Two star-crossed lovers pledging
Their eternal ever-after.
The keys thrown into the water,
Forever guarding their intimacy,
Now, sealed by an unbreakable vow.
But locks and keys have a greater power.
What secrets lurk in those locks?
A promise, maybe a moment
To be remembered and sealed,
The key tossed into time.
For some secrets are best kept unknown,
But treasured for the passion they witnessed. ...

The Challenge
On this day of twenty-nine
someone who is feeling fine,
is making their challenge better
with a back-to-back double header.
We said that 30 days was too long
but we were determined to finish strong,
taking it one class at a time
and adding in a little rhyme
When all is said and done
we've had a little fun,
doing Yoga Every Damn Day
Just before CANADA DAY!
To my yogi peers
have a few beers and cheers,
on this day of twenty-nine
with someone who is feeling fine.

is making their challenge better

Moving On
The end is drawing near,
It's been forever since our last kiss,
The want and desire while still there,
Are but shells of their former selves.
Moved on we have,
You before me - for you had a purpose,
I now - for I have finally found one,
A mystery for you it will be.
There is but one death,
This has been merely a wound,
A wound that is finally healing,
Life can now continue.
You have not been replaced,
For you can never be.
Life has just decided to take over,
And a new me has surfaced.
Better? I...

Spring, the new girl in my life
I while back, my "friend" Summer left
I took it quite hard,
I thought we were more than friends,
but ultimately, I had to let her go if I valued our friendship.
After Summer left, It's not like I didn't explore the other seasons, Autumn, for one, was stoked to have all of my attention once again. However brief and exciting our relationship was, she knew she was only there to console me after Summer's abrupt departure and the arrival of that bitch, Winter.
Autumn always picks up my spirits with her beautiful fall colors and wonderful scents. But alas,...
I took it quite hard,
