POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
A Child's Arrival
Circled by faces happy and tense with care
the little bundle of life has come into this world;
The awaited moment finally at hand
To welcome the new blessing into the fold.
the mother wan but filled with bliss
watches her own with a happy sigh;
Keen Of things bygone and yet to come
I stand by her with thoughts flying by.
The fading years from the past appear
and it seems but the earlier day;
That falling in a boyish haste
my father's gentle touch wiped the tears away.
But he is gone as the gentle wind
and time goes on with its ceaseless...

A Wanderer's Life
A Wanderer's Life
In this life I yearn to bea wanderer lone and ever free;
Free as the wind, free as the ternthat flies from the land to the sea.
The rolling hills beckon to meto take up the trail soon as can be;
Through pleasant meadows and valleys deepwith spirits a-high, and gentle glee.
I long for lands of distant sightof old forgotten musty towns;
With paved streets and stone-walled innsslumbering in peace in the evening light.
Stop I would from time to timeto rest awhile as the sunbeams wane;
But not for long, lest it be too...
