Memaw
Memaw: Alan Foster
Golden reflections of Heaven's sweet kiss resting gently upon her face.
Every smile sparks a warmth, every word a long embrace.
This sweet angel sent to Earth just for me.
I don't deserve this blessing can it be?
A love so pure, so genuine, so strong.
A woman sent directly from Heaven's throne.
Hard working, compassionate, and kind.
Seeing the whole picture even though in one eye she was blind.
A mother, a cook, a grandmother, a daughter, a wife.
Despite obstacles this woman knew the meaning of life.
Her cruel mind...

Serenity Sea
Serenity Sea: Alan Foster
All day long I wish for the same thing.
It is a simple but one the day will not bring.
It is a rare occasion for one to find complete silence.
An escape from all the noise and the violence.
Everywhere I turn there is a face followed by a sound.
Maybe I will find my refuge when I am underground.
I completely understand why the absence of sound is golden.
Maybe that is the pension for someone olden.
Thankfully, on rare and unique occasions, I find peace.
A place, a sound, as beautiful as golden fleece!...

Phoenix
Phoenix
Two inches submerged with rubble, rocks, and dirt.
I have been encapsulated, buried by all the hurt.
People have put me down, rejected me, so full of hate.
The time comes when for them, it is too late.
The void will forever be apart of me.
Why love was never given the way it was supposed to be.
Made to feel less than human, trash, wrong.
Talking with disdain, disgust and hate.
The time comes when for them, it is too late.
Bullied, pushed around, beaten, and worse.
To live my life had become such an awful curse.

Forbidden Love
Forbidden Love. By: Alan Foster
I see you, you see me.
One look, one glance, we both agree.
Our hearts melt.
Instantly life long love was felt.
We smile, we laugh, we stare into each others eyes.
I don't want this to be truth, I want you to look at me with lies.
I am fighting with everything inside me.
This can't be our life you see.
You aren't strong enough to stand against all the hate.
It's my life so for me it's simply too late.
How do I know that our love will never come to light?
That alone is another fight.
Why does it matter we...

Matter
Matter By: Alan Foster
My heart still beating strong despite it having no reason to go on.
Even my wind has lost it's sparkling siren song.
The walls are closing in so cramped, so tight.
I have dried up, turned to dust, there is simply no more fight.
Without fail my eyes sluggishly open every day.
Another meaningless day praying for my strife, my pain to go away.
I am a robot.
I am programed to survive no effort, no thought.
I am completely numb frost bitten.
I am scared and helpless like a little kitten.
I lay uopn this, OUR empty bed.
