POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Sideways Rain
walking back and forth
back and forth
back and forth
struggling so
as it whips down wood
on lollipop flavoured rain
at time X of variable Y
the intercom sparks to life
and yells through the tiles
shaking them down to the clouds
from a lovely, shimmering blanket
dark as pitch
gone out of use
with rubber mats on top
so as not to get corn syrup
spilled
for no one likes their porch frame sticky
but if one is to miss
and get kool-aid on the sky
we can always wash it down
with sideways rain from the mind
back and forth
back and forth
struggling so
as it whips down wood
on lollipop flavoured rain
at time X of variable Y
the intercom sparks to life
and yells through the tiles
shaking them down to the clouds
from a lovely, shimmering blanket
dark as pitch
gone out of use
with rubber mats on top
so as not to get corn syrup
spilled
for no one likes their porch frame sticky
but if one is to miss
and get kool-aid on the sky
we can always wash it down
with sideways rain from the mind

Orange Slices
friends like oranges
with juice coming out
and running down the middle
with a smile splattered on the side
good times pouring out the hole in the middle
where the knife is poking out the peel
cut a little slice off
and pop it in your mouth
let it burn down your throat
and then digest it in you stomach
with laughter bubbling to the top
with juice coming out
and running down the middle
with a smile splattered on the side
good times pouring out the hole in the middle
where the knife is poking out the peel
cut a little slice off
and pop it in your mouth
let it burn down your throat
and then digest it in you stomach
with laughter bubbling to the top

Outside
Behind the bars
Inside watches
Outside
the abandoned courtyard
old with age
and yellowing except
the grass
turning brown
with little dandelions
poking out
their little heads
from full on invasion
of the rain
gushing down
from above
As Inside
watches
Outside
Inside watches
Outside
the abandoned courtyard
old with age
and yellowing except
the grass
turning brown
with little dandelions
poking out
their little heads
from full on invasion
of the rain
gushing down
from above
As Inside
watches
Outside

Back Again
my fist hits the gravel
and I shatter onto the land
fears upon the sand
soul upon the rain
splattering down the drain
to wash my damaged hand
and I shatter onto the land
fears upon the sand
soul upon the rain
splattering down the drain
to wash my damaged hand
