POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Welcome to my world. I am MTF transgender. I am a veteran. I deal with depression, so a lot of my writing is dark. I am a singer, though I do not write these for music. I am not a master of this craft, and I appreciate feedback. Thank you for reading.

Love
Always willing and never failing
An all embracing emotion that can heal the deepest of wounds
A feeling that warms the soul, body and spirit
A caring so full that it brings together the unlikeliest of people
It connects beyond all odds
And all strife
No person should exist without it
Above all, believe in love for yourself
Or all shall be lost
Always willing and never failing
An all embracing emotion that can heal the deepest of wounds
A feeling that warms the soul, body and spirit
A caring so full that it brings together the unlikeliest of people
It connects beyond all odds
And all strife
No person should exist without it
Above all, believe in love for yourself
Or all shall be lost

Believe you can succeed and you will
Even small victories are a thrill
Failures may give you a frown
But get back up from being down
Try to maintain a little smile
Even if just for a short while
Think you will do it and maybe you can
Get out and face the world again
Even small victories are a thrill
Failures may give you a frown
But get back up from being down
Try to maintain a little smile
Even if just for a short while
Think you will do it and maybe you can
Get out and face the world again

Eyes closed, deep breath
Tune out voices that bring death
Clear your head, back to life
Escape from all that brings you strife
Today is just another day
Work to find another way
Bringing to end a special gift
Will only cause a deeper rift
Friends who want you to be secure
Will bring the strength to endure
Do it for them if not yourself
So put the knife back on the shelf
Quickly now or otherwise
Tears you'll bring to many eyes
Tune out voices that bring death
Clear your head, back to life
Escape from all that brings you strife
Today is just another day
Work to find another way
Bringing to end a special gift
Will only cause a deeper rift
Friends who want you to be secure
Will bring the strength to endure
Do it for them if not yourself

Tears you'll bring to many eyes

Desert warrior lost in a cloud of sand
Path unclear, fate uncertain
Vision blurs, senses dim
Legs grow weak as strength fades
Collapsing in a dune,
They reach out their hand
Not knowing if another will reach back
Darkness begins to fill the edges
Breathing slows and shallows
Heart rate lessons
Thump...thump......thump
A light in the distance grows larger
Salvation or oblivion?
Consciousness lost
Hope is lost?

Alone
An island drifting in an endless sea of people and blank expressions
Not seeing the pain in my eyes
Blind to the hurt in my soul
Never knowing who I am
Or where I've been
Deaf to the cries for help
The sobs of anguish
The continuous calling for an end
An end to the joke that is existence
An existence of incongruity between mind and body
Confusing to those who are ignorant
Those who see only with their eyes
Not their hearts
If there are hearts for them to have
Fade to black
The end
All is not well in the realm of eternity
An island drifting in an endless sea of people and blank expressions
Not seeing the pain in my eyes
Blind to the hurt in my soul
Never knowing who I am
Or where I've been
Deaf to the cries for help

The Forever Cycle
In the darkness I sit.
My mind in quiet contemplation.
My spirit in resignation,
Or exasperation, or desperation.
Is it worth the time
To exact the will?
Or just be still
With no joy to fill?
Should I still care
And keep on trying?
Say I'm flying
But all the time lying, crying?
Would any one really notice
If I just slip away
With nothing to say,
A needle in hay?
Is it to much to ask
For a smiling face?
A warm embrace?
A faint caring trace?
Or will I sit here
All alone
By the phone...
My mind in quiet contemplation.
My spirit in resignation,
Or exasperation, or desperation.
Is it worth the time
To exact the will?
Or just be still
With no joy to fill?
Should I still care
And keep on trying?
Say I'm flying
But all the time lying, crying?
Would any one really notice
If I just slip away
With nothing to say,
A needle in hay?
Is it to much to ask
For a smiling face?
A warm embrace?
A faint caring trace?
Or will I sit here
All alone

I Am Gone
I said goodbye and walked out the door
No longer did I wish to stay
I am gone and there is no more
Fighting this had become such a chore
The burden did so heavy weigh
I said goodbye and walked out the door
It may rock you to your very core
The odd and final cold display
I am gone and there is no more
I was hurt and knocked to the hard floor
Could not find another way
I said goodbye and walked out the door
Do not mourn for days of yore
Times that always seemed so gay
I am gone and there is no more
It's over...
No longer did I wish to stay
I am gone and there is no more
Fighting this had become such a chore
The burden did so heavy weigh
I said goodbye and walked out the door
It may rock you to your very core
The odd and final cold display

To what end?
Lonely
Dark
Emptiness
Regret
Sitting in the same chair
Staring at the same screens
Filled with information
That never changes
Never diminishes
Going through the motions of
A hollow life that
May once have had significance
Though uncertain if from dream or reality
Defeated and broken
No longer able to be sad
Emotions do not exist
Only a blank lifeless stare
With cold grey eyes
Mind wandering aimlessly
A pen in hand
Scribbling unconsciously
Forming letters on the page
Looking down...

Pink and Blue
We seek to reform
The gross misinforms
That cause severe rejections
Genders conform
To no such norms
In spite of strong objections
Pink and blue
Are not the glue
That hold this world together
You're free to do
What you feel true
As long as you remember
What others see
Won't always be
The person that you are
But please don't flee
Just live with glee
And be a shining star
The gross misinforms
That cause severe rejections
Genders conform
To no such norms
In spite of strong objections
Pink and blue

You're free to do

Fury (The World Burns)
Drifting in a sea
On a tree
Filled with empty
Hopes and dreams
And it seems
All that gleams
In my eyes
Are smoky skies
And dirty lies
From a land
That demands
It won’t stand
For who I am
It’s a sham
Why would I scam
Those I love
So off I shove
Because I'm tired of
How they all say
Go away
But I want to stay
And try to be
The real me
Yet still I flee
From the diverse
Who disperse
All their perverse
Words of hate
And a state
Of irate
Fools who will never know
The hate they...

For Leelah
No more struggle.
No more tears.
No more wasted breath or fears.
Calm and anguish are one.
All is silent, like it's always been,
Despite my screams for help.
My words are meaningless to you,
So you choose not to hear them.
My identity is my own,
Not your empty fabrication,
So you choose not to see it.
No longer can I be your son,
Yet I cannot be your daughter,
So why should I continue trying to be either?
Two bright lights in the middle of the road
Bearing down with a dull drone.
Crushing my body and releasing my soul.

Emergence (Part Two)
Continued from http://deepundergroundpoetry.com/poems/193194-emergence-part-one/]
Endlessly working
It tries to perfect
A body the host
And world won't reject
The task now complete
It shakes and splits
Shooting out fire and smoke
That won't quit
It was a great shock
As the ground below shook
Causing all near
To turn 'round and look
They see a great mound
As it rises and surges
And from it
The reborn body emerges
Backlit against
A great wall of flames
The crowd below trembles...
