The long trip home....
Back from a drive today
To see my brother far away
Held his hand
Remembered a band
Give us love, give us hope, give us peace on earth
Give us joy, give us life, let us live our worth
Give us hope, help us cope, with this heavy load
Try to live, try to love, hold us in your soul
Why is life
Full of strife
Why can't we
Live and be

Road Trip
Today, I leave
For a fifteen hour drive
From here to there
To visit my best man, a friend
When young we shared a small room
Barely fit bunk beds in there
We laughed ourselves to sleep
Older we shared a college room
A simple mobile home
A place of joy
My oldest plans to come along
My wife, has appointments
So she may stay home
But I'm still hoping she will come
To say hello and goodbye
We plan to stay a day, then trudge back
A long trip, a...

Marriage is not 50-50
Divorce is 50-50
Marriage is not dividing up the lot
Marriage is giving everything you've got
Marriage is 100-100
Long time love is not a simple thing
Starts before putting on that wedding ring
Smiles means more than joy
Tears means more than pain

Walk among the trees of the forest
Light breeze
Vibrant colors
Invigorating smells
Harmonizing sounds
Trees, birds, small animals
Old, young, all different species
Some deformed, challenged, ill
An integrated community
A natural beauty

Remember the beautiful diversity of the forest
When you visit your neighbors
Or are surrounded by strangers
That appear different, speak other languages,
Walk among the people of the earth ...

My Dear Friend
A dear friend
Has decided to have a baby
She's older now,
But never developed marketable skills
But, she's going to have a baby
By herself
My children,
Who are older now too,
Who know my dear friend well
Think that's a shame
The new born will have a difficult life
My dear friend
Who's life has been and continues to be
A constant struggle
Due to limited ability
To cope with
All the rules and requirements
Is going to have a baby
Have we reached a point where having a baby...

We fish for a day without catching
We hunt for some prey without bagging
We travel slow without sound
Sun came up and went down
Bought groceries frozen for eating
Happy Birthday
Your birthdays are rare but we come here
To celebrate heartily each year
While earth gets unraveled
We patiently traveled
And waited to come for our cake share
