A Letter From Your Daughter
As a small child, I saw you as a hero,
However great a mother could be, you were twice that.
I loved you with all of my heart,
Loved.
As time passed, the words you said to me grew more hurtful and
violent.
Discipline was your strongest suit
and you never could back down from a fight.
I used to stand up for you, until I didn't know who I was standing
up for.
Emotionally I was drained and beaten, physically I was bruised;
I remember when my tears made you laugh, and my suffering was
better than a 3-D movie (which I...

Dead Leaves
Life is not to complain about
I feel like almost singing.
The wind had blown cold
But that didn't freeze my beating heart.
The leaves are dead
Though my eyes dance buoyantly.
My bruised body is the evidence
That joy must surely prevail.
My life is running past me,
But I'm only waiting when life will fail.
I feel like almost singing.
The wind had blown cold
But that didn't freeze my beating heart.
The leaves are dead
Though my eyes dance buoyantly.
My bruised body is the evidence
That joy must surely prevail.
My life is running past me,
But I'm only waiting when life will fail.

My Penumbra
My words are silenced by the yells of others.
My hope is covered by another's fiery passion.
This life I merely float through
Can never compare a successful and prosperous life like hers.
I exist
She thrives.
I hum
She harmonizes.
I simper
She beams with beauty and grace.
Her shadow darkens my world
and hides me from any praise.
I am less than her
And she proves this everyday.
As she dances through her eloquent life,
I ask myself,
"Shall my life remain this constant for eternity?"
My hope is covered by another's fiery passion.
This life I merely float through
Can never compare a successful and prosperous life like hers.
I exist
She thrives.
I hum
She harmonizes.
I simper
She beams with beauty and grace.
Her shadow darkens my world
and hides me from any praise.
I am less than her
And she proves this everyday.
As she dances through her eloquent life,
I ask myself,
"Shall my life remain this constant for eternity?"

Misplaced
I was always the one
That was lost.
I became the last to know,
The last to do,
And last to be heard.
I put others before me,
But none did the same.
My sacrifices went unnoticed
And my words ignored.
Others seldom talked to me
But for a moment I was in centerboard.
Family means nothing to me
My friends don't exist
I'm lost to isolation
My lips go unkissed.
That was lost.
I became the last to know,
The last to do,
And last to be heard.
I put others before me,
But none did the same.
My sacrifices went unnoticed
And my words ignored.
Others seldom talked to me
But for a moment I was in centerboard.
Family means nothing to me
My friends don't exist
I'm lost to isolation
My lips go unkissed.

Stole From Me
My life was once a flower
Innocent and clean.
I had danced with passion in the showers
Rain provided for me.
Then you came, lumbering, bumbling
Grinning carelessly.
I traded my freedom for you,
Abandoned the keys to my eternal lock.
My petals moved to reach the sunlight
That shone from inside you.
But that was not sunlight
You are toxic to me.
This lumbering, bumbling one
was the one that killed me.
So I wither alone,
No one else seems to see
This lumbering, bumbling one
Stole my soul from me.
Innocent and clean.
I had danced with passion in the showers
Rain provided for me.
Then you came, lumbering, bumbling
Grinning carelessly.
I traded my freedom for you,
Abandoned the keys to my eternal lock.
My petals moved to reach the sunlight
That shone from inside you.
But that was not sunlight
You are toxic to me.
This lumbering, bumbling one
was the one that killed me.
So I wither alone,
No one else seems to see
This lumbering, bumbling one
Stole my soul from me.

Pale Blue Eyes
When our joints had never creaked, we promised each other eternal friendship.
When your freckles shimmered in the bright summer sun, we talked of our intertwining life.
When the green grass wound itself in our bare feet, your pale blue eyes gleamed with innocence.
You were my mountain's peak.
You were my dear companion.
You were gone forever.
When your freckles shimmered in the bright summer sun, we talked of our intertwining life.
When the green grass wound itself in our bare feet, your pale blue eyes gleamed with innocence.
You were my mountain's peak.
You were my dear companion.
You were gone forever.
