POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
just the average run of the mill person. i just spend too much time writing incomplete processes of shorts and too many song lyrics to do anything with.
the great battle of may second
female: Im tired of waging wars insdie my head
chasing tails that have no end-
lets take it to the streets!
male: well im sick of being "friends",
torn apart, but always together,
just as long as we pretend-
just let me get some sleep.
together: well we're sick, and we're tired
we spend our nights alive on the wire.
will we fall, or will we stand?
female: im just a woman-
male: - I know, that could never love a man.
female: Hey,
i had faith when the faithful
had failed you.
male: Oh,
I had hope when...
chasing tails that have no end-

endart thine eye
I thought,
For a fleeting moment,
And it wasn't long
Just a split second-
A fragment of broken time
That the world had stopped on its axis
And as I fell into your gaze
That I too, had fallen out of your arms
And you had fallen into my hand.
But it was only a moment,
Only a second,
That I thought I understood the embrace of gazes
And the intimacy of an embrace.
I understand now that I comprehend neither
But feel both
Upon my skin
And intangibly on my surface.
For a fleeting moment,
And it wasn't long
Just a split second-
A fragment of broken time
That the world had stopped on its axis
And as I fell into your gaze
That I too, had fallen out of your arms
And you had fallen into my hand.

And the intimacy of an embrace.

the fork on the spoon
sometimes i imagine the way
his touch
would feel upon my skin,
his breath
would feel upon my neck,
his tongue
against my teeth-
then i bite my own
as i stare him down from the left side of the bed.
I cross my legs...
i must always remember
to not run too far
with my imagination.

Mr. Colour-Blind
Well, you see here,
That I'm in a bind.
I've never been one to borrow love
Just known to run on borrowed time.
"Dear 1943, the first time we met
you captivated me.
Your Clark Gable ideal,
You Bogart all the love;
You made me believe these things were real,
As if the reel inhabited us."
"So you shut your eyes
And the world went black,
But just because you say it is
Doesn't make it fact."
Mr. Colour-Blind,
Oh, I don't mind
the way you only see
In black and white.
Oh, I don't mind

The Mock Praise
Hey, Congratulations, you are free!
Liberation from the trials, the sickness
And anything that has to do with me.
Congratulations, this is it!
You finally found the courage to swallow my tears
And call it quits.
Congrats, you really deserve a pat on the back-
But Did I ever care to mention
That
The biggest insult
Is when someone turns theirs on an inconvenient fact?
I guess I really do deserve this smack in the face
As I do recall I am the one who decided to disappear
In the very first place.
But there's the difference between you...
Liberation from the trials, the sickness
And anything that has to do with me.
Congratulations, this is it!
You finally found the courage to swallow my tears
And call it quits.
Congrats, you really deserve a pat on the back-

no face
I looked into the crowd
For the familiar lines
Along your jaw, your cheeks
And eyes,
Your face within the mass
But I have found
In a desolate second of conclusion
Its the absence of which
I truly cannot face.
I am
To say the least
heartbroken and abashed.
The faceless is indeed
The hardest to look at straight.

I do not share failures
Do not ask me for themotives that stir in my blood
If you only mean to tell me
That they tried their very best
And it still was not enough.
Do not tell me that there are words that I should not speak,
Because if the truth be told
It is your fallacies and hate that make you weak.
Do not dare to ask me not to pretend
And then politely request me to hide
The things you would rather not be said.
Do not tell me
What I feel, think, and what I need
Because in the end yoursight is far to...

message in a bottle
Isaw the puzzle pieces through the
amber bottle.
Glass tinted
and obscured by unrollected
contorted memories,
I pick it up,
swallow,
it burns;
Ibecome more obscure,
remember less
and forget more.
The pieces still fail to fit,
but than again
ive never understood the bigger picture.
I've never been good with faces either,
I've told you this,
and until I remembered yours
have always been able to hold my liquor.

When they tell you not to do anything stupid
They mean don't fall in love with the wrong person.
Despite your romantic disposition
Understand that it is just a disposition
And if you allow it the condition itself
Will only worsen.
I am the canchor in your mouth-
Sweet solicitude causing a bitter sore;
Like tongue and cheek have their bouts
I fail to engage but fail to be ignored.
Nature versus nurture:
Do we inflict these wounds by a fault in character
Or because we've been taught that this is the way to interact?
Is this like the...

I sit in the shower
as I am at a loss for words
I Won't run the water
Cause I can't clean what isn't dirt.
Inside to out
I'm but a rotted version
Of what I used to be.
Inside to out
I guess some don't note coercion
Cause they cannot see...
The monster
Made of mirrors-
Disguised by disillusion
And a frank loveliness
Of honest concern.
S.O.S
Your under my thumb
S.O.S
And I'm under your bed.

Anxious Tangents
You look anxious:
Without feet,
Without a mouth,
Without motive to move you,
Without omission to speak.
Tranquil and easy
Is a slumber for a mind’s eye.
To be ignorant is bliss,
To harbour knowledge is resigned.
I trace your hand
With chapped lips;
Upon them both we both have stains,
As we both readily circle the drain,
We are far more eager than borrowed sticks.
Pull me out,
with clumps of hair,
Just dead cells to be refused-
We are but recycled men;
Trash and treasure reused. ...

DELTA - dead upon arrival
Shake me,
The marrow in my bones,
And Drain it
please, sir, take it as your own.
For this is mine, my soul to give,
a life to let die, and a love to let live.
Meet me on the hips of the delta
And there, like fire and ice...
...Kiss my mouth oh constant sea!
Water turned red like painted lips;
A striking colour on black and white.
For I fear although my end suits your beginning
A river, on its course, is lost within you,
And my means for end are not forgiving,
but please forgivea debt of time long past due.
