POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I write about whatever comes to mind, whether it be dark, humorous, and so on. I hope you enjoy them.
"Valhalla Awaits"
My brothers fought
My brothers died.
I mourn my loss
But I do not cry;
Meet, we shall
On the other side.
War is upon us;
I expect to die.
I'll fight bravely;
I'll fight with pride,
For Tyr and Thor
Shall be my guides
In these flames
Of endless war.
Now I must fight
And I must die
To meet my brothers
On the other side.
I swing my sword
I bang my shield
The enemy charges;
They refuse to yield.
Steel will clash and
Bones shall break.
Our men are numbered,
Our lives, at stake.
I beg the...

"The Pale Bearded Man"
Centuries ago, the pale man came,
In the name of his lord
and for glory and fame,
To these unmarked lands
In his massive ship.
We were naive, for we did not stand
Up against the pale bearded man.
Curiosity struck us deep,
So we lent our helping hands.
We gazed in awe at the pale man's tools
While he sat, stared, and thought
"Look at these fools!"
As we sat, stared, and wondered
About the pale bearded man
Little did we know he devised a cruel plan
He took my mother, my father,
And all kin alike,...

"Labyrinth of Suffering"
The fire of sanity burns dimly inside
This uneasiness consumes my mind
Screams of agony fills my ears
The end I seek will never appear
I begged god for his salvation
And I received utter damnation
Here I stand, my fire almost out
Weak I am, I cannot fight nor shout
Hope soon fades with my dying light
I've fallen to this wretched blight
My fire burned out; I've no kindling
Forever trapped, I am
In my labyrinth of suffering
This uneasiness consumes my mind
Screams of agony fills my ears
The end I seek will never appear
I begged god for his salvation
And I received utter damnation
Here I stand, my fire almost out
Weak I am, I cannot fight nor shout
Hope soon fades with my dying light
I've fallen to this wretched blight
My fire burned out; I've no kindling
Forever trapped, I am
In my labyrinth of suffering

"A Moonlit Sky"
As I wander aimlessly
Through all the struggle and strife
I find myself bloodied and beaten
Praying to gods I don't believe in
Begging and pleading for a moment of peace
Ever struggling to get back on my feet
The begging and pleading is done in vain
With tears down my cheek and all hope run dry
I would end my life, for I was ready to die
Suddenly, a magnificent image then caught my eye
The moonlit sky, so beautiful and vast
Overpowered my body and soothed my shaken soul
I, a broken man, was once again whole
Now I stand, feet planted...
Through all the struggle and strife
I find myself bloodied and beaten
Praying to gods I don't believe in
Begging and pleading for a moment of peace
Ever struggling to get back on my feet

"The Simple Man"
The simple man lives a simple life
In a simple town, with a simple wife
He is a simple man of modest means
He wears simple shirts and simple jeans
He's a simple man with a simple job
Which he simply does all day long
He simply comes home late at night
To his simple home, to his simple wife
They share a simple meal and a simple chat
And they simply go to bed after that
When the sun rises he wakes with no fuss
He simply dresses himself and runs for the bus
In his mind, the world is complete
He has clothes on his...

"Pain"
This world we inhabit
Is full of suffering and pain
But I do not cower
For I fear not this bane
Through death and despair
Most men would crumble
When faced with these
I refuse to stumble
For pain is my everything
Whether struggle or strife
Pain, my friend, keeps me alive
Is full of suffering and pain
But I do not cower
For I fear not this bane
Through death and despair
Most men would crumble
When faced with these
I refuse to stumble
For pain is my everything
Whether struggle or strife
Pain, my friend, keeps me alive

"Who Am I?"
Who am I?
Am I the son my parents raised?
Am I the caring person my friends see me as?
Am I the rebel the authorities label me as?
Am I the student my professors think I am?
Am I who society says I am?
Am I who I think I am?
Maybe I'm all of these
Maybe I'm none of these
Who am I...

"The Eagle In The Sky"
The eagle in the sky
Flies with pride and grace.
Such, is a beautiful sight;
It brings tears to my eyes.
For the freedom of flight
Arouses a deep jealousy.
I know my heart's desire
And I know where I belong.
My place is up above
In the big blue sky.
Now all I must do
Is spread my wings and fly.
Flies with pride and grace.
Such, is a beautiful sight;
It brings tears to my eyes.
For the freedom of flight
Arouses a deep jealousy.
I know my heart's desire
And I know where I belong.
My place is up above
In the big blue sky.
Now all I must do
Is spread my wings and fly.

"The Last of My Kind"
We were once a proud and beautiful race
But everything we are now lies in waste.
The destruction of my kind began within
When news broke out of political corruption.
My kind stood up and my kind spoke out.
Stubborn and old, our leaders ignored us.
Tired and angry, my kind revolted.
And so ignited the flames of war.
They burned bright and indiscriminately,
Consuming all in their path.
They grew larger and more violent
As time came and passed.
When the flames burned out
After many wasted years,
Only I remained, stricken by fear,
For...
