Through the lines
My heart cries out
Can you hear it calling?
It beats for you
So in love I am falling
Anticipating words
Spoken and unspoken
Feelings of warmth rush in
My soul is hopeing
To hear your voice
And calm my fears
Cherish that feeling
Though I desire you were here
I would hold you tight
Cradle your face in my hands
Gently kiss your lips
Wish I could help you understand
I am thankful you let me back in
To be a part of your life
Even if I can only send my love

Unfettered by distinctions
Between dimensions of time and space
Secret greed hides success

Where once was light
It lives there no more
The darkness crept in
Through a half-open door
A door left open
I just didn't know
Foolishly thinking
It would never close
The creaking sound
Echoes in my mind
While breaking my heart
And slowing down time
Nothing left to see
Not one touch to feel

Falling
I am spiraling out of control
No one to talk to, no one to grab hold
I try and try, but I cannot stop the crying
Even though people think that I am not trying
I cannot sleep, I cannot think, I cannot eat
I see my mom and dad dying every night when I actually dream
I am not sure how much longer I can go on
With all the pain and sorrow that keeps playing like a song
My brother is still with us and for that I am glad
But after the accident, he will never be able to have the life he once had

Orphan
Can't call mom or dad
Both now are gone
The phone will always ring
Because they will never be back home
Their baby girl was not ready
To let them go so soon
My anger directed at God
He took them - I never got to choose
When dad was called to his Heavenly home
I had mom to comfort and tend to
But now that she has made her way to Heaven
I don't know what to do
I cried, I begged, I pleaded
Please, please, please just let her stay
But now I am an orphan
No matter what my age, I was never prepared for this day
Both now are gone

Because they will never be back home

I am selfish and think what I think...
I struggle. I admit it.
I have lost both parents.
What I really struggle with is keeping these thoughts to myself when I hear well-meaning family and friends speak these "words to help me." And I do appreciate every last well-meaning thought, but I am selfish and think what I think. So, to keep myself in line - I am just going to let it out right here. Right now. I cannot tell how many times I have heard these utterances from close, well-meaning family and friends...but one thing is for certain - no one can know my feelings, no one can deny my feelings - no one can feel what I feel....

Behind Closed Doors
Fingertips tingled when touched
an accidental brush
the feeling of your shoulder
created a heated rush
A sideways glance
an ever so sly smile
sneaking a few words
oh yes, these memories still get me high...
You watched through an open door
as i quickly strolled on by
no one else was looking
so you followed me inside
Fervent touching, feeling, kissing
that was just our style
the slightest sound made us silent
but only for a while
A room in the very back

When you never say a word
The silence has spoken volumes
You have damaged this girl
I surrender all that I am
All I could ever hope we'd be
I only wish my heart had not died

I know I have finally let go
