Poet Introduction
Wait . . . Poetry? I thought this was a dating site!
Taco thursday
When upon a motor coach
A bus for the prosaic
I heard the word taco spoken
Betwixt two fair young maidens
With hours to pass
Ere home we end
I wondered which taco place
Could be previously referenced

Zuckerberg Can Never Be Cool
But I don’t think he should mind too much
I have this notion
That the rich can never be cool
Not that it matters
Coolness is the great consolation of the poor

Longing
Can we still feel?
It’s getting hard to breath
Hard to think
Hard to know
What do we actually know?
Good things and bad things
Have past us by and now we’re here
Moving on to new and different things
Not better, not worse.
Just different
Continuously different
Eroding the banks
Erasing what we knew
Everyone is a stranger
And I’m no longer excited
To meet new people
I’ve known so many people
For so long
And so many of them are gone
One way or another
My hopes for the future ...
It’s getting hard to breath
Hard to think
Hard to know
What do we actually know?
Good things and bad things
Have past us by and now we’re here
Moving on to new and different things
Not better, not worse.
Just different
Continuously different
Eroding the banks

And so many of them are gone
One way or another
My hopes for the future ...

A long time coming
That was a long time coming
I’m quite proud of myself
I tell her
As she puddle on the bed
Still quivering a bit
Exhausted
I ask if she’d like to go again
I’m quite proud of myself
I tell her
As she puddle on the bed
Still quivering a bit
Exhausted
I ask if she’d like to go again

Sevens and Gin
However much may depend
On a red wheelbarrow in the rain
I’m here with you
With a seven and seven and a gin and tonic
There’s no smoking indoors
We’re not listening to jazz but there is music
And we are talking
I’m captivated
It doesn’t really matter how much we drink
I live around the corner, I’ll get us home
And if you find that you can’t walk
The rain has stopped and here’s a wheelbarrow
I guess he knew how important
A wheelbarrow could be
On a red wheelbarrow in the rain
I’m here with you
With a seven and seven and a gin and tonic
There’s no smoking indoors
We’re not listening to jazz but there is music
And we are talking
I’m captivated
It doesn’t really matter how much we drink
I live around the corner, I’ll get us home
And if you find that you can’t walk
The rain has stopped and here’s a wheelbarrow
I guess he knew how important
A wheelbarrow could be

Autumn
Contemplating the fall
Of the withering leaves
Onto the broken sidewalks
In the city
As I lay here pained
My ankle twisted and sprained
I called into work
Stayed in bed to recover
Downside: sprained ankle
Upside: didn’t have to go into the office
Things are looking up this fall
Of the withering leaves
Onto the broken sidewalks
In the city
As I lay here pained
My ankle twisted and sprained
I called into work
Stayed in bed to recover
Downside: sprained ankle
Upside: didn’t have to go into the office
Things are looking up this fall

Counting
I don’t care
How long it takes to get
To the center of a tootsie pop
Tell me rather,
How many licks to get to the center of your soul
How long for me to change your religion
How many licks
Until I am the one you beg, plead, and pray to?
How long it takes to get
To the center of a tootsie pop
Tell me rather,
How many licks to get to the center of your soul
How long for me to change your religion
How many licks
Until I am the one you beg, plead, and pray to?

The Sun
I see it
I know the effect I have
How I make them feel
I love every bit of it.
I stand here and I am the Sun
Radiating my light and warmth
And they turn to face me
Trying to absorb my energy
I know the effect I have
How I make them feel
I love every bit of it.
I stand here and I am the Sun
Radiating my light and warmth
And they turn to face me
Trying to absorb my energy

Poetspeak’s poem she dampens inspired this
She dampens
She dews
She glistens and glimmers
She drips
She oozes
She seeps and stews
She swells up and springs forth
For me
She dews
She glistens and glimmers
She drips
She oozes
She seeps and stews
She swells up and springs forth
For me

I didn’t even see it coming
Her
You didn’t see her coming
She didn’t
You suck in bed and you
Sound like a serial killer
You didn’t see her coming
She didn’t
You suck in bed and you
Sound like a serial killer

There is nothing new under the Sun
That’s why we have sex dungeons
Not sex solariums
It’s not like we’re shy
Not sex solariums
It’s not like we’re shy

That’s not write
I had a creative writing teacher
Who told me to try to avoid clichés
To express something powerful
Original
To create meaning
Not borrow it
His wife left him
When she found out he was fucking a student
Maybe he should have avoided that cliché
Who told me to try to avoid clichés
To express something powerful
Original
To create meaning
Not borrow it
His wife left him
When she found out he was fucking a student
Maybe he should have avoided that cliché
