Between The Reason
You being an addiction
Was something I never foreseen
I’ve have had my highs and my lows
Livin’ life like this is just mean
You took me to a place
A place I never been before
So much distance and years gone by
It seems that time is just an even score
So many memories to hold on to
All these things have there season
Trapped in the facts and emotions
There’s a close justification between the reason

Devil’s Scorn
My darkness was born
With the devil's scorn
Filled with desire
It's passion was fueled by dire
I live all alone in a field of stone
Beyond these gates my spirit roam
Searching for my long lost love
In-between death and heaven above
I have a locket filled with her soul
Around my neck it defines my role
Darkness, a true path to trudge
A place where light cannot judge
All the ghosts are chained to their past
The moon and twilight is dim and vast
My spirit is free and confined to infinity

Freedom
To be free from or free to do
The power of self-determination
A state or condition of free will
Is it emancipation or deliverance
Or just a point of someone’s view
The act of a bird leaving a cage
Something that lives across a land
Is it a written declaration
An excuse for independence
Or a job that pays minimum wage
I don’t know but the free in freedom I find
Comes from frei the meaning to love
A condition in which we must share
To everyone, a friend or foe
With open arms and an open mind
The power of self-determination

Today I realize
Angels are here with me
This city just won't let me be
The wicked are always at my door
They keep crying out for more
I'm trapped in the beginning of the end
I can't see my blessings, Just my sins
Voices echoing in my head
They say don't look back my friend
Leave here before you're dead
Her memory blows like the salt in the wind
Here on this mountain
There's no peace within me
I pray for you to set me free ...

Are you a memory of love
Are you my midnight fantasy
Are you my imaginary lover
I guess the choice is up to me
I haven’t seen you in forever
I can still feel your breath upon my skin
I get so lost sometimes
Pleasure or heartache, were do I begin
Are you a Savannah sunrise
Are you my Georgia-bama sunset
Are you three fingers of Tennessee whiskey
But you’re never something I regret
Here lately I feel so alone
I wish we could meet somewhere somehow
We could talk just for a while...

Broken Soul
Standing here, as the rain washes my tears away
Holding on to your promise of a sunny day
It’s more than the wind that chills my soul
Your memory is easier than you were to hold
We had some good times down here by these tracks
I guess you and I both know they ain’t coming back
I still sit here and listen to that lonesome whistle blow
It’s times like these your memory is so hard to let go
If I could go back in time and have you forever to hold
I’d make a deal with the Devil and sell my broken soul
I’d Hope and pray...

Dark Side of Light
I live in a garden
I hide from the day
Here in the shadows
A place I choose to stay
I wait for the night
That’s when I feel alive
I walk with Angels
That didn’t survive
The light illuminates
All the hidden pain
I can’t see to let go
Only memories remain
Here in the darkness
I find comfort and tranquility
I collect only dark feathers

Summer In Memphis
I was leaving the beer line
When she bumped into me
Had one in each hand
Spilling Bud Light on her Def Leppard tee
I said excuse me ma'am
Can I buy you a beer
She said that would be nice
But that's not why I'm here
As she grabbed me by the hand
I was chillin' in a beach chair
As the sun came out
Smoke filled the air
While she danced in that Memphis mud
The band played their last song
I smiled and said, how about that beer
She said that would be nice...
