To protect and serve
A sacrifice to pursue
Ambushed in the streets
By terrorist and their political view
You’re loved and hated
Some see a different hue

A Spider’s Totem
Like a bandit, a thief in the night
Thought I’d steal her love and take a chance
She surrendered softly without a fight
Not knowing I was a victim of her circumstance
I awoke to curtains hanging all around
Sheets of silk felt inviting to my naked skin
She laid next to me, my hands were bound
She whispered so softly, let me tuck you in
Blinded by the diamonds, lost in her eyes
Her perfume filled the air like a Jasmine tree

My Mind Slips Away
Somewhere between the Ocmulgee and Tallapoosa
My mind slips away back beyond yesterday
A dew with some jack
A tee top chevy a Skynyrd eight track
Play it pretty for Atlanta always takes me back
I still feel the sun shining on your face
Making memories that time can't erase
We drove that chevy into the night
Passing through jukin city
like on an airplane flight
Playing tracks 2 and 3 over and over

In the big blue sky

Does It Sound Familiar
I’m always alone
Here in my mind
Your soul my spirit has mined
Your heart is something I can’t find
I live only in my dreams
I wish you were here
Your voice is something I can’t hear
From the echos of a shell I hold near
I sit where the waves meets the sand
No one around only the sound of the sea
Until the sunsets until I can no longer see
Your memories are like waves crashing on me
I’ll never be able to say goodbye
I hide my tears with invisible mask

I heard that conductor calling
Calling all aboard
I swore I wouldn't buy ticket
I'm on these tracks again
She wasn't just a woman
She was my best friend
Yesterday all my problems seem so far away
Only to have them back today
I don't know where I am
I want things the way they once were
Oh train take me back to her
Sittin' here at the station
There’s no need to pretend
I see the caboose could this be the end
I feel that wind stirring inside

When I was high
Lying all alone
I looked to the sky
The clouds drifted away
Love and peace was in the air
It rained down
Flooded hearts everywhere
All the hate was washed away
People no longer made a choice
Standing hand in hand

Cornerstone
It’s not the color of our skin
But the integrity that lies within
Good and evil are always at war
Is it our responsibility to even the score
Love, faith and forgiveness is all we need
Is the stone in your hand worth more than those that bleed
We all walk alone in a day of our own judgment
Unknowingly it’s to late go back and make any adjustment
So it’s a choice we all have to make
To judge those and their mistakes
To find strength in the King’s message from the mountain and hill
To find the power to burn, loot and kill ...
But the integrity that lies within

With the rays of the morning light
You’re the last thing I think of
As the sun surrenders to the night
Day dreams of you and me
Some I’ve held, some never came true
Midnight dreams of you and me
Fantasies and passion as we never knew
You’ll never know hard its been
Life without you is an empty space
I’ll never know how hard its been
To see your reflection in someone else’s face

I saw a tramp standing in the street
Judgement from the one who is born
Righteousness was solid as a rock
As I read the words written at her feet
The adversary quickly withdrew his tail
The Gypsy offered compassion as a gift
Which came from the power within
Like Kryptonite, forgiveness did prevail
I saw her wings were dark as the night
As the tramp passed by the crowd
With glasses the color of a rose
Her heart was as pure as feathers of white

The mountains never looked so high
From the valley below
I see my reflection
Against a Venus filled sky

When Mars is on the rise
