False Hope
The passing glance, That singular moment in time.
The soft smile, That beautiful shade of red.
The turn now facing me, That wonderful rush of joy.
The look of love in your eyes, That pain as my heart begins to skip.
The man behind me moves in, That must be your husband...
False Hope, yet again...

Slow Pain...
That smooth lacquered black box, your name etched on brass tags...
I feel my heart begin to break, your blue eyes now cold and gray...
My soul is Shattered like glass, your smile is all wrong and glued in place...
Did you even know my name?
I remember you well, all that time we spent together...
I remember your laugh, all those drinks we had...
I remember your charity, all the places we danced...
Did you even know i loved you?
Why can i not forget your face, your look in that moment when you said "goodbye."

Fractional epiphany.
Why does god see fit to tempt me with you?
Why does my heart skip a beat every time you smile?
Why would you waste your life on me?
Why...
Time passes slowly, and your touch lingers on my soul.
Life goes on, but still i find myself lost in your eyes.
The seasons change, and your beauty grows evermore.
Why...
A million miles away from you, and still i can't escape.
Why...
Even six feet under your smile finds me.
Why...
At what point will i forget you?
At what point will i forgive you?
At what point will i die for you?...

Love?
There are some experiences in life they haven't invented the right words for... and i think when someone comes up for what I'm feeling right now, it will be a mix of the darkest and most beautiful things humanity has to offer. i find myself far too often reminded of things which i could not control, yet so direly attempted in vain to simply inquire if they would consider my pleas.

My Enemy
I wake up to see you staring back at me,
plotting, waiting, feigning sincerity.
you say "i love you" then why do you still hold that blade?
my faceless foe watches me sink... deeper into my own psychosis.
Each night i resign myself to sleep, defeated, and bloodied.
i see your hands tremble, its grasp slips slowly from the blade.
the only peace i feel now is within the bleak sterile blackness of my dreams.
Your eyes... i still feel them, searing a mark deep within my soul.
all i taste is blood now, that sickly sweet metallic taste,

Why Say Goodbye.
We began to fall in love, our lives branching out into their own.
We were friends once, our hearts close even at their lows.
We laughed together, our joy was plain to be seen.
Then that all changed.
Your smile haunts me in my dreams now, we've been apart far too long.
