Maze
Emotions surfacing
Long laid dormant
Overwhelming me completely
Do I want this torment?
I close myself off
I cant seem to deal
Unable to function
Useless when I feel
Why am I like this?
Everythings intense
Can't deal with anything
It doesn't make sense
Im so fucking broken
I only want to hide
Everybody leaves
Once they get a look inside
I do this to myself
I let people get near
Then spiral into darkness
Once they disappear
I want to be loved ...

There is turmoil in my mind today
A disturbance
My routine has been broken
Apprehension
Do I like this?

I need more information

Good scares the shit out of me
I dont want to be seen

Confusion
My head is full of confusion
Back and forth it moves
An unexpected intrusion
The darkness disapproves
I've smiled more in the last few days
Than I have in over a year
Is this nothing but a passing phase?
Why am i filled with fear?
I want to resist the rays of sun
Cuz they always seem to burn
An overpowering urge to run
When will I ever learn?
A life in the light isn't meant for me
The dark is where I belong
The faint voice of a child makes a desperate plea
But gets lost cuz it just isn't strong ...
Back and forth it moves

Why the fuck you getting up in my shit?
Critiquing the content of the verses I spit
You think you know me cuz you read a few poems
Come at me sideways I'm going straight to your dome
You done picked the wrong one on the wrong fucking day
Dont come to my playground cuz this dude don't play
Im not the one that you wanting to test
Speaking on me youll get laid down to rest
Thinking that you gon be the one to trip me up
I think you've had enough of what you got in that cup
Cuz you must be drinking or on them...

Til Next We Cross Paths
Til next we cross paths
I wait in suspense
Brief moments shared
Yet no less intense
A break in the clouds
A light piercing through
You make it look easy
By just being you
A flutter within
A solitary word
Grabs my attention
Something is stirred
Light draws me closer
Creating a crave
Intoxicating me
Till it's hard to behave
I will wait with suspense

Hoping to grasp
Any line you might toss

Caged Bird
Not feeling it today
So I'm not gonna write
Forcing the words
Just doesnt seem right
Poetry is an outlet
A place to release
There must be some truth
Within every piece
The meaning is lost
When no purpose is served
Integrity is something
That must be preserved
Pressuring myself
To put something to page
Is equivalent to a bird
Trapped in a cage
Feathers and wings
Yet unable to fly
What is a bird
That can't touch the sky?

Maddening
As I sit in the driver's seat
Riding along back roads off of the beaten path
Among open fields and dense forests
Nature and life undisturbed
My mind begins to drift and my focus becomes
Peace
Quiet
Serenity
I wonder how I got so far from that
A journey that veered off course and a path never corrected
I contemplate veering this car off the road
Making contact with one of the trees and becoming one with nature
I don't

Trapped
A horrible start in life
yet I still had hope
Now im an adult
Who can't find a way to cope
Every minute of every day
I seem to fall apart
progress doesnt matter
I end up right back at the start
I care then I don't care
I try then i quit
As a child I dreamed of more in life
But it feels like this is it
Cant get my mind together
So I'm stuck within this loop
Hard to make a choice
When you're guided by a group
A crowd of voices in my head
Fighting to be heard
Trying...
yet I still had hope

Storms
The thunder rumbling in the distance
Makes me feel at ease
The wind is picking up
The trees are swaying in the breeze
A storm is like a long lost friend
Makes me feel less alone
The chaos and the violent nature
Are all I've ever known
The rain falling from the sky
Reminds me of the tears
That were such a part of daily life
Throughout my younger years
The thunder is the sound of dad
Looking for a fight
A warning sign that let me know
Best stay out of sight
The sudden flash of a lightning...
Makes me feel at ease
