POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Inspired by the Boreal and fueled by the blistering.
Hellfire and Black Thunder
Above the field where flames do writhe
The heavens roar in tempest's might
A baleful wrath, both fierce and blithe
Cleave the shroud of endless night
The embers dance as a frenzied choir
As tongues of hell their torches raise
While thunder's drum, a voice of ire
Resounds across the starless haze
Charred expanse, a scarred domain
Lies drenched in hues of molten red
Where shadow’s kin and ash remain
In solemn pact with the dread overhead
No mortal eye such sights may bear
Nor soul endure the vengeful gale ...

Avant Fantasia Nox
Lo, 'twas in dream’s abyssal shade I stray’d
Where no sun’s fair hand the dark allay’d
A vast and formless void did yawn
Bereft of stars, nor heralded dawn
Yet in that gloom, a beauty dire did dwell
A chasm deep, an unspoken spell
A melody strange, unearthly and dread
By mortal ear ne’er safely read
The air did quiver thick with might
Aether’s breath, both sweet and blight
Forms unshapen in the murk did glide
Neither flesh nor spirit, but worlds beside
Most who glimpse such alien grace
Would flee in haste...

Usurper of Cosmic Tides
Lo, beneath the vault of yon heavens rend
Where aether’s weave in twain was cruelly split
Did planes unbidden sunder, twist, and blend
And realms of mortal ken to chaos flit
A harvest grim, by blood and bane besought
Was wrought upon those cursed forbidden fields
Where shards of divinity lay broken and fraught
Cloven, yet vast puissance still they yield
What ancient seals were forged in elder days
To keep the light from touching dread’s domain
Now sunder’d lie, as horror lifts its gaze
And cursed shapes do tread where none...

Wages of The Faithless
In depths unseen, beneath the endless night
Where shadows writhe and whisper of despair
I walked, alone, beneath an empty light
To witness what awaits the soul laid bare
No angels’ song, no holy trumpets sound
Only the hollow moan of desolate cries
For here, where souls in darkness are unbound
The Faithless walk with vacant hopeless eyes
Their steps are slow, their hearts are cold as stone
The wages earned for turning from the truth
In endless grief, they walk, yet walk alone
Their faith forsaken in the fleeting youth
...

Trophies
My shadowed halls where silence reigns
The air is thick with ancient stains
Upon the walls their gazes cling
Heads mounted high, in twisted rings
Their necks are bent, their angles wrong
Grotesque mockery of choral song
Each jaw unhinged, each mouth agape
A frozen hymn no voice escapes
Their hollow eyes, they pierce the gloom
Their whispers haunt this endless tomb
No mortal hand could set them so
What placed them here no man should know
And yet they watch with silent plea
A tableau of dark symmetry

Thus Spoke Abaddon
"Lo, hark and weep, thou sons of dust
Man’s pride waxed and God’s decrees did rust
Once high, ye stood, in Eden’s grace
Now low ye crawl, a wretched race."
Thus spoke Abaddon
"In days of yore, thy hands were pure
But gold and sin thy hearts allure
Thy towers rose, thy pride took wing
Yet cursed thy voice, no more to sing."
Thus spoke Abaddon
"I watched thee fall, thy doom in stone
The mark of wrath, the seed was sown
By serpent’s tongue and lustful eye
Thy souls were bought, thy birthright...

Jagged Carvings
I’ve seen it, by the dim lamp’s glow, I’ve seen it
Totem speaks truths no man seen writ
I bow to whispers, spectral and vast
My limbs grow cold; this trance shall last
The walls dissolve—oh, what madness reveals!
The mind unfurls, its ancient seals
The red sigils glow, their meaning I glean
Too late, I know—no man should have seen
I believe I shall perish, by knowledge undone
Yet in this dream, I am the one
I saw the carvings, etched by hands long decayed
Marks of old dreamers, their warnings betrayed
Symbols crawl and shift...

Peeking
It peeks with a leer, its head askew
A shadow stretched where death is due
TAP. TAP.—bare feet meet the floor
Each sound louder than before
Its hands clutch the corner's edge
Twisted fingers, a bone-white wedge
SCRAPE. DRAG.—its nails catch stone
A chilling echo, cold and alone
Closer it comes, the hallway still
The air grows thick, bending to its will
THUD.THUD.—its steps grow bold
A rhythm steady, lifeless, and cold
Its breath, a rasp, like rusted gears
A wheeze of hunger, stoked by fears

Stalking Reflections
It slinks where the mirrors grow cold
Shadows pulse and warnings untold
Linger thick like a midnight mist
A grinning maw in the abyss
Twilight with ita crimson burn
Something from a shattered urn
Fangs drip echoes of silent screams
Its eyes ignite your shattered dreams
A breath you take, it takes one too
The glass reflects not just you
Its jagged form, a wretched sight
Born of fear, it thrives on fright
Twilight stretches, the minutes ache
The veil between worlds begins to break
Its claws drag whispers...

A One Eyed Horse
Over lanes I tread
Neath a black sky, a dead moon overhead
Aye, naught but the dead
Naught but rocks and runes instead
Out by yon farmer’s field
Walketh one apart from the rest
From it the others peeled
A horse, an unholy crest
On a rocky road by the wall
Where the cattle oft do graze
Cometh a horse black and tall
And meeteth my nervous gaze
Lo, struck am I with the smell of rot
And the visage of blighted skin
This thing from Hell begot
Decaying deep within
It whispereth through dread lips ...

Aye, naught but the dead
Naught but rocks and runes instead

Clockwork Bard
Line by line and writ by writ
Creativity from rotating gears?
Forged thoughts together knit
Man or machine they fear
No such thing as auto masters
Nay no spark from the soul
Sure it writes faster and faster
But my mastery is mine to control
Challenge automaton work
But words here are of flesh and bone
Homunculi writers are stuck with a dirk
Blood flows here as creativity is enthroned
No punch cards or binary brains
To say otherwise is a misguided frame
Where art thou relentless disdain? ...

In Shadow Adorned
Beneath the silk, so black, so fine
A hollow husk doth lay in rest
No pulse, no breath, no sacred sign
But rot within its lifeless breast
The fabric clings, a mourner's veil
It whispers grief in shadowed seam
Yet hides the truth, so stark, so frail
A corpse that mocks the mourner's dream
Its folds like night, they shroud the stain
Of flesh decayed, of hope long fled
And yet the lie, through silk, doth reign
To mask the ruin of the dead
O mournful weave, thy beauty feigned
Thou canst not halt what death hath...
