On your way up the ladder
On your way up the ladder
You will meet puff adders
Attempting to inject the venom
into your reservoir of positivism
Screaming "murder"
on yr name
Wanting to see you fall
They will endeavor to extinguish
your innate glow
On your way up the ladder
Ankles are bound to ache from the continuous climb;
Step by step
Breath by breath
Your doubts increase
like a rich man's love for wealth
"Is this ladder taking me
to heaven or hell ?"
You ask yourself

Oh Colourless..
Oh colourless
How I wish you existed in our midst
You would rid us of all this mess
There wld be no spite when seeing white
No panic when seeing black
Everyone would be transparent
We would look bluntly into their souls
And see them for who they truly are
Rather than using their color as a reflection
Of their character and perception
We would value each other equally
There would be no need to prioritize
Superiority over the minority races
Irregardless of whether you light or melanin
You would still...

The Conundrum
My soul was in denial
Whilst my cerebral painted a vivid picture of it all
Thats when I knew all that glitters ain't gold
"I was played" I uttered in a faint lifeless whisper
She had taken my love and care as a fun fair
Like deja vu
I quickly arrived at the same rendezvous point with my past
What made me such a worthy character of this particular scene
Was it that I was not a player ??
Shaking in disappointment and filled with rage
It all seemed like a mere mirage
But the deep cold hole in my heart ...

Depression
Drowning in my own thoughts
Every situation I ponder on
Makes me wonder more
It hits me hard on the wall like a
disrespectful step dad
Eats my soul slowly like a cancer
From those living in mansions
To those surviving by a mere pension
It has no discrimination
Whilst society remains naive of its existence
Some people have resorted to snorting
White lines to try to get back in-line
Whilst others swim in the deep pools of alcohol
In the hope of washing away their woes
But it leads to more turmoil
