WHEN I LOOK ROUND..
(Inspired by lines and picture of Magdalena's poem Risking The Night.)
When I look round, I see you there,
Smiling at me, with shoulders bare.
Your knowing smile has a power
As nearer draws the “witching hour”.
I sense that you are delighted;
You know you get me excited.
I look into your piercing eyes;
A force grabs me between the thighs,
As if an invisible hand
Was stirring up my prostate gland,
Before my own eyes gravitate
Towards your thighs that for me wait.
We are each other’s great obsession,
Each of the other takes...

Another Ode to Casanova
(In which are buried pen names of some Deep Underground poets who have featured in the Love and Erotic sections. This poem follows on from two shorter odes published together October 28th last year.)
In love he'd been THE STUDENT willing,
Mastering the arts of ladykilling.
No 'common or GARDEN' LOVER he,
Making impact beyond Italy.
Place to place and girl to girl DRIFTING,
He could come across as uplifting.
A TORNADO that would STORM through lives,
Pick up many men’s daughters and wives.
With eyes that could pierce hearts like a LANCE,

BLIZZARD BABY
The blizzard giving excuse for skiving,
With the roads impassable for driving,
The couple lay in their bed a-writhing,
Doing what in old days was called 'swiving':
Nine months later their child was arriving!

I HAVE GONE BACK
(Another post breakup verse told as if by a woman.)
I have gone back to my maiden name
And the place, pre-marriage, whence I came.
Husband divorced – caught him at his game
With that woman he called his “old flame”.
I don’t want a failed marriage’s shame
Or hear tart hints I might be to blame
By making him flee to that bitch-dame.
My view of life will not be the same,
‘Thanks’ to him who marriage didn’t tame.
Until my mind has a better frame
I’m not up for a new man to claim –
Till, perhaps, when my feet get too lame
To stand on without...

OFF CLOTHES, DOWN HAIR
(A story spun out of making as many lines rhyme with the first.)
Take off your clothes, let down your hair,
I want to see your pretty pair,
When you have shed your underwear.
Your beauty is beyond compare,
You look lovelier when you’re bare.
Ditch all inhibition and care,
We’re a mile high up in the air.
Let’s consummate our love affair.
We have no time to stand and stare,
We’ve come so far, we’re almost there,
Our chance to do it oh-so-rare.
Let’s seize the moment if we dare!
Your king must have his son and heir, ...

SLOW DANCE
"Dancing is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire."- Robert Frost.
You may tell the depth of a couple’s romance
By the way they behave on a slow, last dance.
Arms round each other, and not many holds barred,
Gazes into eyes, in reverie unmarred,
The lips increasingly making the kissing touch,
In time with the feelings aroused in the crutch.
Each whispers furtively in the other’s ear
With words such as “beautiful”, “sexy” and “dear”
But their hands are doing most of the talking,
While to the music they are sensuously walking,...

BREAK-UP BALLAD
Love’s “bit me in the ass” again,
“Got fingers burned” – both cause me pain.
Then – warm glow, a sense of power;
Now – alone in the “cold shower”.
Is there some abnormality,
That I attract wrong men to me?
Lord, whatever did I do wrong,
To live another break-up song?
When shall I find that man to trust,
Who won’t just use me for his lust,
Nor thinks it makes him a hero
To have more than one on the go,
Nor drinks too much and domineers,
Poisoning days and nights with fears.
Shall I hold out to find that “One”,
Or shall I just become a...

THAT BOOK
(This was one of a number of imaginary poetic thank-you letters from grateful readers of "The Joy of Sex", which celebrated 40 years in print this year. I realise "that book" could also easily be "Fifty Shades of Grey". Any resemblance to real life situations is coincidental!)
I invited my intended back to my flat,
Making sure ‘that book’ lay around to look at.
Into a grin the lips on his face did curl
With the words: “Didn’t know you were THAT kind of girl!”
He couldn’t believe his blinkered eyes,

COFFEE
(Inspired by profile picture of DU poet Jestalessa, which showed her smiling with a coffee cup held close to her face. This is not the same woman as the person in the borrowed picture used here!)
“Would you like to come in for a coffee?”
I thought that you would never ask it me.
Don’t get me wrong, I only want to see
You, at ease, in your home territory,
Be served something simple at your fair hand,
Warming, sweet, stimulating, understand?
I’ve drunk champagne, wines, cider, beer - but think
Coffee is the king of the bonding drink. ...

REACHING OUT FOR YOU
(Inspired by the picture accompanying the tribute poem by Strider to Darkest Desires, "Girl Behind The Curtain". This is an interpretation of what the picture could symbolise.)
I reach out to your spirit and heart,
I want only you, I’m not a ‘tart’.
I thrill to see you light up at my touch,
Knowing a whole night is not too much,
Because I want to spend this – our – night
Nakedly bathing in your love’s light.
“You have my heart in your hand,” you say,
“None can take the joy you give away.”
The curtain stays drawn on what we do,...

ENTANGLEMENT
(Inspired by R_bby22's poem "Tangled Up In You" and its accompanying picture.)
I don’t mind this entanglement;
We’re to each other Heaven sent,
Each other’s strengths we complement.
This is the way that we were meant
To be – that is my sentiment.
Clothes pulled off hard they sometimes rent,
Releasing our shared lust up-pent,
Realising carnal intent
In heat of our enamourment,
Within a bedroom or a tent.
We live for, and live, the moment –
Next day we won’t ask where night went,
That night, our divine appointment. ...

OBSERVATIONAL - SEX AND FAMILIES
When woman rears a seductive head,
The thoughts of man soon lead them to bed;
Age-old response to an age-old vibe
That bade his ancestors sire their tribe.
Now the sex can be enjoyed at will,
Thanks to birth control, like sheath or pill,
That make children easier to plan
Between the couple, woman and man,
Who may – or may not – be cherishing
Desire to acquire the wedding ring.
