Flicker
Candlelight flickering
Smell of your hair upon my face
Slow shadow dancers
Reveals our rhythmic pace
Music down and under
Floating hazy tune
Torn sheets of words unspoken
Litter mind’s afternoon
Golden rays of dawn creep in
Pushed behind by a new day
Fantasy becoming reality
No denying what’s left to say
I’m gonna leave you
Sweet withdrawal makes me sad
But take faith in this awakening
You’re the best damn dream I ever had

The distance between us
The lack of the violence
