Something Smells Fishy
There is a brook beyond the yard and beyond the yard I must never stray
I long to rake my fingers through her cherub little waves. Dip my toes and get lost in a cleansing interstellar daze
How foolish, to thirst for a tiny creek when I have hills and fields I could explore for years. However, I find no satisfaction in overturning stones I am expected to overturn.
I want to lift the mountains hidden behind the backdrop sky, snatch up the slimy things scurrying beneath them, and feed the birds singing by
More than anything I want to lap at the stream beyond...

berb
The wind that hit us as we kissed
Started like a wave
On the opposite side of the world
Grew larger with every poetic crash and curl
Oh the love
Let it unfurl

Grew larger with every poetic crash and curl
Oh the love

her gentle exit
The bullet entered innocent
Disappearing like a child jumping into a ball pit
Every one of them, red
Spilling away from the entry point
I watched her fall
Like a baby bird from a nest
The shell, still attached to her fragile head
She layed on that bed
For what felt like years
That barrel rang hot and embodied my fear
The smoke danced like the leaves of August
Admitting its crime, so honest while the dawn was nearly upon us
Of the entire world and all its inhabitants
Only us house pets witnessed this...poetic silence.

cancer kills again
I sat in disbelief
At the end of your bed
As a heartless machine
mocked your heart's final breaths
Fluttering dives and climbs
It beeped the rhythm of life
Spelling without letters
A morose rhyme
Explaining in sighs
You've not much time
Alas
The waves layed down
It cried the tone of death
A sonorous ringing ill never forget
Motionless like your chest
Though you gained the face of rest
How selfish of me
To want you back
Why is life so fragile
So short, so brief
Why must loved ones
Watch each...

Half Open Broken Zipper Door
Beneath the October stars
We layed uncomfortably in a tent
Attention inevitably poured
Through the translucent screen door
Frosted with spider webs
Half opened broken zipper door
Were the stars aglow?
I knew then, I'd never know
These twinkling anythings'
Lighting, stunning, cunning things
Hold my concentration
Confused, I bit my tongue
Cats eyes
Balcony lights
Be you stars, be you not
Confess your sins
You no longer protest or fight
What stirs beyond the light
Within the shadows and darkness

Birth of October
Leaves weren't even thinking
Pourch lights bled through fences
The birth of October was today
Taste the air if you doubt me

Taste the air if you doubt me

we simply, Are
Moments crawled away
Not escaping; passing by
In the cool cool grass
Our hearts ate the sky
Every cumulus requested permission
Before reflecting through her eyes
I melted to nothing in the scent of her hair
She whispered to me without speaking
"its amazing how we can still breathe
with the amount of clouds in the air"
I understand your logic darling
We simply, are.
And just before time began to fly once more
My heart sank, my soul choked
In an anxious sweat
I became hers
Not escaping; passing by

He is, no more
He chuckled as he snapped the buttons from waist to throat. Each fastening echoed though his finger's bones. Pockets on the inside, pockets on the outside, a hood that hid your eyes just right. Cloaked and bundled up, prepared for anything. An extravagant thing, our world. He faced it armed with the heart of a lion. With only his thoughts and dreams to confide in. He took not into consideration, the strength of the sun. And with trembling hands, every button was undone. Throat to waist, his fingernails pinched pink to white. Shedding his shell, slowly offering himself, to the warmth of...

That Face of Hers
On a Friday just after sundown
Your reflection fell upon a Wednesday's snow
The grown with his head down
Bowed In respect of your eclipsing glow
Your face never emitted such emotion
Yet most no one will see
Flowing like a stream into an ocean
The endless pages of poetry
Somberly and gleefully spewed
From the hearts and souls of writers
Confessing the love they feel
Confessing nothing else matters
Your presence tonight saved lives
Proving to the hopeless and blind
That even when darkness persists
Beauty can exist ...

Green Windows
There is a therapeutic something, in watching you dream
My only complaint; your eyes must close as you sleep
Your lids slowly slid
Down over your green windows
Oh the beauty I know
These curtains have hidden
Not like any beauty
I've before now witnessed
My only complaint; your eyes must close as you sleep
Your lids slowly slid
Down over your green windows
Oh the beauty I know
These curtains have hidden

A Poetic Silence
The day exhaled a poetic silence
And here I lay, dying to describe it
No one was hinting
No one was speaking
With no sort of planning
Everyone began gazing
All smiling and crying
Holding and sighing
So sentimental and alluring
As the ceiling fan was swaying
It's hum sung in circles
A simple lullaby
Eyes were closed
Nobody was cold
Hearts were agape
As we aired out our souls
And here I lay, dying to describe it
No one was hinting

this gentle descent
The squeak of your front door
To which I've grown accustomed
Was impossible to shut out
In this, my final visit
The springs and hinges
Squeezing and straining
If possible, they too would be crying
The kitchen clenched the stench of death
And yet, that comforting scent of yours
My feet never felt heavier
My heart never beat so lightly
And this house
Never wept with such loneliness
On the floor
Lay your captainless vessel
Layers of tissue
Thin and fragile
Your soul; the linchpin
And you yourself pulled...
