POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I wouldn't say I'm the best. I just write from my heart. Words flowing on effortlessly. From the end to the start. Giving me a joy inside. From the words I write. Sharing hopes and fears my all. That is why I write
All Cease But This
When the mountains are but dust upon the dunes of the desert.
And the winds have long since waned of their ongoing journey.
As time grows weary of the season, another year another eon.
As the sun fades to part it's life and stars dwindle from never ceasing night.
As all such things are not meant to last eternity.
There upon will still lie my memories.
Where no tide upon the oceans of time,
Shall waste away that which I hold dear.

Where Am I Going
Never knowing,
No, not where I am going.
Gut renching,
The fear of not going but staying.
All hopes,
With dreams and fantasies.
I live on,
My days with thoughts of these.
My heart longing,
For like spirit to share all.
Held back, reclusive,
For to stop, to stay, clipped wings I'd fall.
Yearning love,
To hold and be held, laugh and cry.
Future beckons,
And to give in, stop, surrender not try.
For a soul,
A thing I fear I'd falter my feet.
To settle,
No, not ready, much work before I seat.
No, not where I am going.
Gut renching,
The fear of not going but staying.
All hopes,
With dreams and fantasies.
I live on,
My days with thoughts of these.
My heart longing,

No, not ready, much work before I seat.

Attitudes
The climate change
goes on and on
and as the ozone thins
rays burn from the sun
the arctics melt
and the oceans rise
seasons in flux
give all time highs
politicians squabble
eco-warriors protest
we just ignore it
scientists obsess
habitats are altered
wildlife struggles to adapt
but we keep on compounding
the effects that we've had
perhaps we do ill
in our ignorance of bliss
but the better for our new wave
to show how we will persist

With Wings Depart
When I stand next to her
I shift uneasily
For I sense a hope akin
Which exudes from she
At night I toss the bed sheets clear
Losing peaceful sleep
With anticipation of our
Next time we meet
My goals in mind lie far a field
So cannot stay here long
I fear to get to close to her
Will show my will's not strong
With that in mind I lie awake
Drolling out these words
As much for her as for me
Closeness would soon hurt
At the time I should spread my wings
And tearfully depart
One thing I cannot now give
Is my aching heart...

Are We Men
Do I, don't I?
What should I do?
When what i want,
Is not good to do.
Temperance, patience,
Wait on other day,
Who knows fortune,
Coming the way.
A wish, a dream,
Of a personal journey,
With ambition to progress,
Where I want to be.
Hold faith, with trust,
No need to cross track,
All things shall come,
No needing shall lack.
No wants, no fears,
Can blind the way,
As ambling along,
Stay true, I shall stay.
And reach, and grab,
And delve deep within,
Honour and valour,
Lay for the living.
Dark deeds,...
What should I do?
When what i want,
Is not good to do.
Temperance, patience,
Wait on other day,
Who knows fortune,
Coming the way.

Spring Dawn
where upon, springs rain falls down,
and drops on grass, glisten as diamond crown,
fresh beginnings afoot, reign in the new dawn,
early risers to catch, birdsong in the morn,
scuffles in shrubs, as small critters find feast,
the day is alive, at my roadside not least,
gazing up moonward, still set in the sky,
off looking eastward, sun yet to crest high,
the air is vibrant, all enraptured by day,
ready to embrace, ventures coming their way,
I sit in silence, absorb the atmosphere,
feel a faint stir, my heart quickens in cheer,
warmth on skin, as...

Reflection
Reflected in the mirror,
Before me shadowed there,
A vague and empty figure,
Stood cold and naked bare,
Missing the definition,
With slight a stony stare,
Beyond the vast ambition,
But opened up through fear,
Was weakened for some reason,
To what it did not share,
To question what was missing,
Something i did not dare,
I focused began to see,
Under the dark blonde hair,
I realised that it was me,
Standing before me there.
Reflected in the mirror,
Myself I'd not seen there,
The strength and faith in me,...

The View On High
I stood looking out
To a mountain before me
Drawn to it's presence
To a point far from view
I sat and I stared
And I watched it there
It stood and ignored me
It didn't really care
So I stepped and turned back
Returned to the people
Forgetting the sight
Of that gargantuan steeple
But in time it nagged
Prodding discreetly
And I began to ask around
Who had been there before me
Some answers were short
From those who knew nothing
While others were vague
From those who knew something
In the end I was decided...

Identity
If I could penetrate the masses,
Break some of our walls,
Learn to teach coming generations,
The values of morals,
In this defining time of science,
While religion slides it's place,
We no longer know our boundaries,
And we rationalise our faith,
Someone anew must bring forth,
A doctrine to suit atheist,
But in which not alienate,
Our common monotheist,
Everything belongs behind,
A banner of duality,
We are all individuals,
Accepting such leads to stability,
History has written of men,
Who shape and manipulate,

Black Jack Daw
Black, Jack
And crooked neck,
Thief and scrounger,
With hammering peck,
Proud and sleek,
But ever so sly,
Trouble to come,
Shown by glint in the eye,
Waiting this Daw,
Perched high on limb,
Awaiting his mate,
To go dancing with him,
Return on current,
Pitched feathers in time,
Approaches and lands,
By Black Jack in line,
A darting look,
Then leap from the Ash,
A stumbling dance,
Of the two starts to hatch,
Swoops and eddy,
Forms flowing in tandem,
With eyes a glare,
Fixed motioned between them,
