The only thing I can hear is the silence,
There's nothing there,
I lay awake and wait for white noise,
Then I wait for it to turn black,
I wait to close my eyes on a dreamless sleep,
And let go of my restlessness.

I can only hear silence,
I dig my nails into skin,
In hope for some relief,
A release,
I don't cry out,
The silence is impenetrable,
I can't hear even my heartbeat over the sound.

I pray for voices in the background,
Anything but this,
My fingernails break the skin,
I'm still reduced to this,
This deathly...

I’ll forget more then you’ll ever remember,
Not sure of the day but I’m sure it’s December,
What’s the time? I dread to think,
I’m sure it’s there but we’re missing the link.
Somewhat disconnected,
My feelings itch and I’m infected.

Condone my bad behavior,
Pretend I need a savior,
Breaking through the walls,
Just like I recall.
I don’t ever want you,
You’ll never need you.

I can mold your heart just like clay,
And I’ll forget the words that we forgot to say,
That damn thing’s beating again,
I can’t stop eating again,...
