Push
I hurt my friend
I hurt a friend
That person is hurting
Life is much easier
when you're constantly working
Grade school was so long ago anyway
I'm glad she's happy
I'm glad she's happy
Happily married I'm uninvited
Not that I mind being slowly forgotten
Not that I meant any more than
Sitting on the porch steps that were rotting
Playing in the park with the swings that were broken
And talking
About our dreams and dirty secrets
Playing truth or dare in different sequence
I wanted to shout don't let go
But you...

Refuge
Please I'm begging for peace
I'm screaming for justice
Just this voice in the masses
Asking can't somebody
See what's happening
Please we run in the streets
All questions
No answers
but sideways glances
Chance encounters
Second chances
In no one's faces
Don't ignore us
Like your homeless
Just because
You don't want to help us

Never needing
Means
A constant searching
For a reason
When the whole world is at your feet
Do you question it?

Become the only tune I know

UPBEAT INSPIRATIONAL POEM

Raise
Let the sun shine on your back sometimes
As you bathe in the excessive light
Know the blades of grass that cut the sky
All dance with the yellow bright
The flowers all raise their heads to gaze
At a burning ball of gas so far away
The touch of which can change the days
And can still find you in the shade

Answered
So simply
But I choose to live my life with reason
Just as the sun can alter a season
The indescribable can be believed in
