He walks down the road of life
Emotions will run their course,
If by chance he falls in love
Experience none the worse.

Losing a bit of himself along the way

Life giver, designer of joy
While nurturing fanciful dreams.
Radical views, breathless cries
Tug at the strings and seams.

Glad to be giving of himself

Storms threaten, lightning flashes.
Watch out!
As he holds her down.
Alert to dangers amidst the rain
Unknowingly cause her to drown.

Another piece of him falls away

So down...

A scented sigh.
The brush of lips.
Wet skin.

The corner of my mouth twitches upwards.
Inside, the feelings rise.
Consume.
Overflow.

I am washed in the memories of you.
And though you were lost to me
before we were found.
I revel in what you left behind.
Now,
And beyond
The downward drift of my eyelids.
