POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I consider myself both fortunate and in dire inner conflict, for having taken to writing poetry, first for the pleasure it lent, then for the tribulations to write better.
Writing a Sonnet
When I start, I’m at a loss,
Should I with the sunshine of her face?
Or from delicate palms first emboss,
Followed then with her arm’s grace?
Should I from pedestal flawless to look upon,
Embark on my Descriptive & bestirring tales?
Or from character & knowledge later to don,
Chaste halo of her maiden sails?
To imitate living art, by chance
Perfect poetry that walks among men,
Bearing at once wit, drama, humour, and romance,
Needs more than one mind and pen,
For in each person resides a poem,
To be...

O' Lustrous Moon...
O’ lustrous moon with tiara of pearly glow,
Of oceans framed by silver locks spread low,
Comfort during ordeals like a child’s innocence is so,
In this restless mind let incandescent purity flow,
Share my wistful secrets, with renewed hope endow,
Wrap with celestial fingertips, then with silver bow,
Fire away, and on my unsuspecting Love bestow,
To let it dawn on her face, that now she knows.

Comfort during ordeals like a child’s innocence is so,
In this restless mind let incandescent purity flow,
Share my wistful secrets, with renewed hope endow,
Wrap with celestial fingertips, then with silver bow,

To let it dawn on her face, that now she knows.

Awakening
Awaken, sweet love, from where you lie,
Brush away slumber from sleep-enchanted eyes,
While you accept this kiss,
I give through parted lips,
Summoning for you before night dies.
Awaken, eternal bride, my lass to be served,
Let not the sands of time pass undeserved,
Though mutual flames are quenched and rest we should,
My fire stirs like amber in smoldering wood,
To sweep through me in every nerve.
Awaken, soothing water, source of my fire,
Bathe me deep in love and desire,
While I sail upon your creamy seas,
And pause to rest...
Brush away slumber from sleep-enchanted eyes,
While you accept this kiss,
I give through parted lips,
Summoning for you before night dies.
Awaken, eternal bride, my lass to be served,
Let not the sands of time pass undeserved,
Though mutual flames are quenched and rest we should,
My fire stirs like amber in smoldering wood,
To sweep through me in every nerve.
Awaken, soothing water, source of my fire,
Bathe me deep in love and desire,
While I sail upon your creamy seas,
And pause to rest...

Dancing Girl
Dancing girl, o'lovelier pearl,
Exquisite treasure of this world,
Your body embroidered with jewellery and gold,
Making you a sparkling diamond to behold,
Ringlets and bangles on fair ankles and wrists,
Blur as you whirl in the silken mist,
Sable locks braided into a flowing tail,
Virgin face half covered by a mystic veil,
Hiding not crimson cheeks and bewitching eyes,
And scarlet lips, all magical, to draw wistful sighs,
You are like a flower that has fully blossomed,
With delicate shoulders and shapely bosoms,
Undulating stomach...

The Meditators
Two women stood, facing East,
Rooted, to the green earth, still,
Arms embraced the firmament,
Trees veiled the rolling hills.
Still, for a moment, a rosy child,
A speck of sun nestled in his locks
His straight dotted-line curiosity,
Magnifying glass intense,
For as long as moments last,
A dainty butterfly caught his eye,
Towed him in spasmodic cheer,
The field hued in mirthful cries.
The golden kid with silver peals
The meditators, the season’s song
Evoked a nostalgic bucolic feel
That...
